Hi all,
I have always struggled with oily skin and most of my beauty products are of matte finish. I am using matte, silicon-based, oil-control primers for a really long time, but just recently, I have started to add hydrating products in my beauty and skin care routine, and my skin loves them! I prefer natural makeup over matte makeup these days. I bought this primer water from Makeup Revolution to give a hydrating boost to my skin while prepping it for makeup. Read on to find my views on this Makeup Revolution Aqua Priming Base.

My Experience with Makeup Revolution Aqua Priming Base:
Packaging: The product comes in an opaque, black, plastic bottle with a pump attached to it and a transparent plastic cap. There are details mentioned on the bottle in white and golden. This is a fuss-free packaging that is travel friendly and easy to use. I wish it was a transparent bottle and I could check the amount left.
Texture and Fragrance: This is a watery product that is super lightweight and feels just like water. It feels like a rose water mist on the skin. It does not feel heavy at all and never clogs the pores. Two to three sprays all over the face are great to prep and prime the skin. It does not have any strong alcohol or chemical smell either. It has a faint, sweet smell that does not linger on for long either.
Effectivity: This is great priming water for all skin types. As soon as I apply it on my skin, it gives a boost of hydration and the skin looks plump and soft. There are days when your face looks dull before applying makeup and this can rescue the skin at such times. It gives a very natural, dewy glow. I have oily skin and it has never made my skin oily or patchy. My foundation blends smoothly when I apply this all over the face. I prefer using it all over my face and use a silicon-based primer at the T zone to tighten the pores. This does not make my skin look super matte and flat and I think this combo will work great for oily skin.
If you have dry, ageing skin, this alone can do the job well. I often use it at the end of my makeup too. It takes away the powdery look form the face and sets everything to give a natural finish. I spray it twice after my whole makeup is done and dab it gently using a Beauty Blender. Everything sets in perfectly and the makeup never looks cakey with it. As it contains glycerin, it helps the makeup to stick to the face. It does not affect the staying power directly, but I feel it helps the makeup to stay natural for longer than usual.
Overall, I am happy with my first primer water. I will definitely experiment with more products of similar formula.
