Setting makeup with a pressed or loose powder is essential for long-lasting and crease-free makeup. I have used pressed powder by MAC, Covergirl, Rimmel, Maybelline and so on. Among all that I have tried, I loved the one by Rimmel because it performs really well for the money paid. I wanted to try out pressed powder by other brands so decided to try out the one in this review.
Product Description:
Introduce us to someone who doesn’t love a good photo filter, and we’ll introduce you to our secret herd of pet unicorns. Our point? That’s why we created #NoFilter Finishing Powder–our amazing new product that delivers a finish as flawless and soft as the most flattering filters on Instagram and beyond.

My Experience with NYX #Nofilter Finishing Powder:
NYX is a famous brand for producing affordable, professional grade makeup. It offers a wide range of products and so many options to choose from that it receives its dedicated aisle in Ulta stores and bigger cities have their own NYX stores. For these reasons and the shade selection, I decided to buy it from my local Ulta store.
The product comes in pan packaging with a flip cap. The cap is clear and shows the shade of the product. The product is pressed in a dome shape and is very stiff to touch. One can use a wet makeup sponge to pick up a small amount and press on to skin like pressing loose powder or a fluffy brush to dust product on face and neck area. With a wet sponge, although is my least favorite method to apply pressed powder on face, can be best used by pressing and rolling the sponge onto the skin. A fluffy makeup brush is my preferred mode of application.
I use this product to set the makeup around my mouth to prevent makeup from creasing. With a large fluff brush, we can apply it on neck and décolletage area. It can also be used to touch-up makeup on the go, especially the under-eye area. This product claims to be easy to blend which is true, it does blend seamlessly into my face. It leaves a transparent matte finish on face.
A lot of reviews claimed that it is comparable to MAC pressed powder and it is true. It is half the price of the one by MAC. It prevents the face from getting oily, prevents shine, and allows skin to breathe easily. It is formulated without talc which is a plus point and is free of animal cruelty.
It has an important feature for selfie addicts – it is perfect for photography and prevents face from appearing ghoulish under flash photography. It is light weight, offers light coverage and gives a smooth finish to skin.
Pros of NYX #Nofilter Finishing Powder:
- Comes in a pressed pan packaging. It is made up of sturdy plastic and has a flip cap. It is perfect for touching makeup on the go.
- It is priced right since it is meant to compete with more expensive options.
- Comparable to the pressed powder by MAC.
- Formulated without any talc and cruelty free.
- Gives a transparent matte finish, it is moisture resistant and prevents shine.
- Offers 15 shades options and there is one shade for each one of us.
- Perfect for flash photography, gives a natural appearance to the face.
Cons of NYX #Nofilter Finishing Powder:
- I can’t think of any con and do recommend it to readers.
Do I Recommend NYX #Nofilter Finishing Powder?
I recommend this product to those who use pressed powder on a daily basis but find the one by MAC too pricey. This product is half the price and performs just as well. I do recommend it to others.
