Hello IMBBians,
I recently picked up transformer drops from Catrice. I picked up the ‘Darkening’ and ‘Lightening’ drops as they make modification of foundations easier. Today’s review is all about the ‘Lightening’ variant. Read on to know more.
Price and Quantity: $5 for 15 ml
Product Description:
Individual Transformation. Make-up can be individually aligned with the needs of the skin thanks to the highly pigmented, liquid texture: Lightening Drops lighten the texture of foundation while the Darkening Drops make it darker. The Transformer Drops provide the possibility of personalizing any CATRICE foundation.
Beauty Tip: The drops can also be used for highlighting and contouring. For especially natural-looking results, mix to create a shade that matches the skin tone. Liquid textures like the Transformer Drops should only be applied on top of liquid make-up – if you prefer powder, it should be applied after the liquid or creamy textures.
Ingredients:
Aqua (Water), Isododecane, Polymethyl Methacrylate, Cetyl Peg/ppg-10/1 Dimethicone, Hydrogenated Tetradecenyl/methylpentadecene, Mica, Aluminum Starch Octenylsuccinate, Propylene Glycol, Glycerin, Isononyl Isononanoate, Disteardimonium Hectorite, Polyglyceryl-4 Isostearate, Hexyl Laurate, Sodium Chloride, Triethoxycaprylylsilane, Ethylhexylglycerin, Caprylyl Glycol, 1,2-hexanediol, Sodium Phytate, Alcohol, Phenoxyethanol, Ci 77491, Ci 77492 (Iron Oxides), Ci 77891 (Titanium Dioxide).
My Experience with Catrice Prime and Fine Make Up Transformer Drops Lightening:
The drops come in a tube packaging. The product is tamper sealed at the cap. The color of the tube is same as the shade of the drops in it. The black screw cap is tight enough and there can be no leakage. The tube is made of plastic but it is not transparent and you cannot see the remaining liquid in it. The nozzle helps in easy dispense of the drops. There is a little information on the back of the tube. The tube being small is travel-friendly.
The lightening drops are very pale and very bright. It is suitable for pale skin. The shade is a little on the yellowish side. The product has a semi-thick consistency. It is very creamy and has a soft consistency. The smell is very weird and off-putting. The drops are very easy to mix and for Indian skin tones just a few drops are more than enough to lighten the foundation.
The product does make the foundation thicker and you need to use an oil or toner to thin down the foundation. The drops are very pale, and even though it can be used alone, it is very bright for me. I usually do not use the lightening drops for this purpose. The product is easy to blend and doesn’t cause any cakey effect.
One of the things I have noticed is if you use more than 2 drops with the foundation this product reduces the quality of the foundation. It drastically changes the wear of the foundation as it is a mix. However, I usually use a drop as my skin tone doesn’t change drastically in winter. The product has some yellow undertones and it might not be suitable for everyone.
The product doesn’t cause any dryness but it clings to the dryness of the skin. So, you need to exfoliate the skin well. Comparatively, I like the ‘Darkening’ drops over these lightening ones. Since it is inexpensive, it was worth a try.
So, summing up:
