My Experience with L.A. Colors Pout Matte Lip Gloss Kiss and Tell:
The lip gloss comes packaged in a small, cylindrical plastic tube. The tube is transparent and it has a black colored cap bearing the brand’s tagline printed on it. The see-through tube helps to easily spot the shade in makeup stash. Also, there is a small label on the cap, which indicates the shade name and ingredients list. There is a small doe-foot applicator attached with the cap. This applicator is soft but it picks up only a small amount of the product, so I have to dip inside the tube again and again. Other than this, the packaging is leak proof and does not occupy much space. So, overall the packaging is basic and travel friendly.
“Kiss and Tell” is a deep wine shade. The color is flattering for most of the Indian skin tones. This is a bold colour and definitely not for everyday use. The brand calls it a lip gloss but it is actually a matte finish liquid lipstick. It is very pigmented. The color is so intense and opaque that it is capable of covering pigmented lips easily with just one swipe. I do not need a second swipe of this lipstick. Layering makes the color patchy. It looks darker on some places and lighter on some. There are no micro shimmers in this lipstick. It sets to a perfect matte finish. It is smudge-proof and does not transfer at all.
The texture of the lip gloss is smooth and creamy. It glides effortlessly without drag on the lips. It is not really lightweight and I can feel its presence on the lips. It takes 1-2 minutes to dry out completely, but still, it leaves a sticky feel behind. The stickiness stays all the time and it feels so uncomfortable while pursing the lips together. It has cracking tendencies upon drying. The formula is really drying. It does not provide any nourishment to the lips. My lips feel really dry and uncomfortable after an hour or so.
The longevity is somewhere around 5-6 hours on my lips. Removing this lipstick is such a pain. It stains the lips badly. It cannot be taken off with a normal makeup remover wipes. I need a good oil based remover to get rid of this lipstick and still leaves the stain behind which is difficult to remove.
