My Experience with Essence Metal Glam Eyeshadow 11 Lucky Grasshopper:
Essence Metal Glam Eyeshadow comes in a metallic range of 7 beautiful shades. I wanted to grab all the shades, but sadly 3 of them were out of stock. So, I bought 4 of them this time. The shade names are ‘Sparkling Orchids’, ‘Sparkle All Night’, ‘Are You Grey?’ and ‘Lucky Grasshopper’. I will be talking about Lucky Grasshopper today.
Packaging:
Let’s begin with the packaging of the product. The eyeshadow comes packed in a round pot and has a clear flip lid. The name of the brand is mentioned on the transparent plastic lid in silver fonts, which looks very attractive. On the back side of the container, the shade name of the eyeshadow is mentioned. The size of the container is small, so it looks very cute and girly. It can be carried around conveniently everywhere. Overall, I love the packaging of these cute little circular pot eyeshadows from Essence.
Shade:
The shade “11 Lucky Grasshopper” is a beautiful, vibrant mint green colour which looks gorgeous on the eyes. This shade has very finely milled silver glitter pigments in it which are hardly perceptible but give a stunning glow when you swatch it. It is a perfect party-wear shade. The colour does not look very greenish but has a beautiful metallic green finish to it. This will look good on all skin tones. I love to own such lovely colours in my makeup stash.
Pigmentation:
The pigmentation of these eyeshadows is awesome. You will get a decent colour payoff with 1-2 swipes. For fuller coverage and maximum colour payoff, I need 3-4 swipes. I hadn’t expected such amazing and richly pigmented packed formulations at such low prices. But then again, Essence makes good quality products at affordable prices, don’t they? Overall, I love the pigmentation of these shadows.
Texture and Finish:
As per the product description, the eyeshadows are meant to give a metallic finish to the eyes. The eyeshadow comes in the form of pressed metallic pigmented powder which looks very attractive. Upon using this for the first time, I found the texture to be very smooth and non-gritty. The application did not feel uncomfortable on the eyes. The formulation is neither very creamy nor very powdery. It just has the right amount of consistency and gives a lightweight feel post application.
At the first glance, you might think, they impart richly glittered eye makeup looks. But the finish of these eyeshadows is subtly metallic and you won’t end up looking like a glitter factory. When I swatched this shade, I noticed a smooth and even eyeshadow with very less perceptible glitters or shimmers in it. It just imparts the right amount of metallic finish to the eye.
But it has some drawbacks also. Since it comes in the form of pressed pigments, it will be difficult to apply and blend these eyeshadows with brushes. Finger application will make the application easy and more even. The metallic look will be more intensified if you wet your brushes and apply this. The shades don’t feel patchy and ensure a smooth finish post application. Overall, I really love the texture of these shades and their amazing metallic finish.
Staying Power:
These shades stay in place for a decent amount of time without any creasing. They last for about 3-4 hours which I think is good at this price value. If you have oily lids, you will definitely need a primer prior application; otherwise, the intensity will gradually fade away. These shades are easy to remove as well. They come off easily with any makeup remover.
Overall:
I really love the way Essence has formulated these eyeshadows. They look classy yet understated. The shade “11 Lucky Grasshopper” is such a lovely mint green shade and I never had such shades in my makeup collection. If you are new to eyeshadows and love metallic finish, this range from Essence is good to give a great start. They are well within your budget and have superb quality. I would highly recommend the readers to check out these metallic eyeshadows if you are on a low budget.
