Hey Lovely Ladies,
This is my last review for Bobbi Brown Crushed Lip Color. It feels a bit sad when a series comes to an end. But, with this review you will finally have all shades from this line reviewed on IMBB – all the swatches, lip swatches, FOTDs will enable you to pick what shade you want for yourself! So, let us get on with it and discuss the last shade in the line “Cranberry”!

My Experience with Bobbi Brown Crushed Lip Color Cranberry:
Packaging: The brand kept the packaging in line with the Bobbi Brown aesthetics by doing a cuboid back casing and yet gave it a fun and efficient twist. Each of the lipsticks has a colour coded band which extends to the lipstick tube itself. The colour of the band corresponds to the colour of the lipstick inside. So, if you have more than one of these, it’s easy to identify the shade from the packaging itself – plus it looks more fun and vibrant.
The lipstick bullet is a regular twist up with the cap clicking soundly into place. The lipstick bullet is indented which allows better precision in application. It comes packaged in the usual black cardboard box.
Shade: I do not know what the product team was smoking to name this shade Cranberry! 😉 Just like the shade “Plum“, Blackberry and Ruby, the shade name has no relation to the actual colour! The moment one says “Cranberry”, you get the image of a rich pink toned medium to deep red – something bright and vivid. The company describes this shade as “mid tone rich red.” The shade is actually a medium, brown toned, muted red. Go figure! Don’t get me wrong – the shade is quite beautiful and it seems flattering (when built up). But, not what you would expect a shade named “Cranberry” to be! The built up shade would work on all skin tones. When used as a single swipe, the colour looks kind of dirty brown on my lips – not something I go for. But, built up shade is very pretty, like a neutral (not nude) take on red.
Texture: The formula of this lipstick is in line with the other shades I reviewed. The lipsticks glides on effortlessly like a lip balm and yet does not have too much slip where it would slide off the lip line either. It deposits pigment evenly and allows you to build up pigmentation. The texture is very lightweight, moisturizing and extremely hydrating. It fills in the lines on the lips and makes them look more youthful. What is most remarkable about the lipsticks is that the texture does not build up even when the pigment does. Meaning, normally if a lipstick is not too pigmented, we build the colour by adding more swipes.
However, as we add more swipes, we also end up depositing more product which adds texture to the lips and if the lipstick has a cream/satin texture, the product would end up sliding around on the lips. However, that does not happen with this lipstick. I assume it is because the texture is so lightweight. Being the texture it is, it will transfer to other surfaces on contact.
Pigmentation: Being a muted shade, a single swipe gives a very light wash of colour on the lips and isn’t too flattering. The single swipe shade is a bit too yellow toned brown. The colour can be easily built up – this means about 5-6 swipes at least. The built up colour is quite unique and fairly opaque. My lip swatches and FOTDs are with built up colours, so that you can appreciate the difference between the different shades in the line. However, I have shared arm swatches where one side is a single swipe of the lipstick and the other side is with multiple swipes. This will enable you to understand how low the pigmentation is and how richly it can be built up.
Lasting Power: When used as a single swipe, the shade does not last too long – maybe an hour or so of a soft stained look. With multiple swipes, and the colour at full intensity, this shade gives me about 5-5.5 hours of wear and leaves a light stain. It does wear off evenly and does not get patchy. My lips feel better off and thanks to the hydration provided by the lipstick.
Fragrance: There is a slight fragrance but nothing too discernible unless you put your nose to it.

Do I Recommend Bobbi Brown Crushed Lip Color Cranberry?
While the shade isn’t “Cranberry”– by any stretch of imagination – even if you cook the cranberries and make a sauce out of it; it is a very pretty shade. It is a lovely neutral like NARS Audrey. I like the shade and totally recommend it!
