Hello IMBBians,
Finding the right foundation can be a task! Even when we find the right one, with changing seasons our skin gets tanned or brightens up. Tossing out or buying a new one to match can be a big hassle. In the Netherlands, finding the perfect shade for Indian skin tones is very difficult. I recently came across these ‘Transformer Drops’ by Catrice and decided to pick them up. Today’s review is all about Catrice Prime and Fine Transformer Drops – Darkening. Read on to know more.

Individual Transformation. Make-up can be individually aligned with the needs of the skin thanks to the highly pigmented, liquid texture: Lightening Drops lighten the texture of foundation while the Darkening Drops make it darker. The Transformer Drops provide the possibility of personalising any CATRICE foundation.
My Experience with Catrice Prime And Fine Make Up Transformer Drops Darkening:
The transformer drops come in tube plastic packaging with a black cap. The product is tamper sealed near the cap and the tube. There is some information on the back of the tube regarding the product. The small tube makes it travel-friendly. The dark brown tube is not transparent and you can be easily deceived that this is the color present inside.
The cap closes tight and there are no chances of leakage. The nozzle is convenient to use and you can easily add drops to change the color of the foundation. The darkening drop is dark brown in color and is pigmented well. The color of the drop almost matches the outer package. The drops are creamy and have a semi-thick consistency.
The product has a weird smell which is off-putting but other than that I do not have any other issues with the consistency. The product blends very well and provides a matte finish. It is very smooth and easily mixes providing a velvet finish. I haven’t noticed any patchy effect with these drops.
The drops, even though are pigmented, lose pigmentation when mixed and for darker Indian skin tones this would not be a good choice. To darken the foundation, you need to add the desired amount of drops and mix both. The drops, however, darken the foundation only to an extent. I have noticed that the product also gets a little thicker after mixing and I use a toner or oil to thin it a bit.
I have used it with Rimmel, MAC, Essence and Max Factor foundations and didn’t have any issues with the mix. But, the product works best when used with Catrice foundations due to the same texture of both the products. The product is mainly targeted for fair to medium skin tones and not for darker tones.
I am an NC 44 and the foundation is a little darker for me, and when I am tanned, 2 drops give me a perfect shade. Along with the mixing, you can also use the product for contouring. The product doesn’t cause any cakey effect and doesn’t cause any breakouts. This is the affordable version of The Body Shop Shade Adjusting Drops. I love it and can’t wait for summers to start.
So, summing up:
