Smokey Gold Glitter Eye Makeup

Hi Everyone,

My love for glitters is real. I love using glitters not in my creative looks but in my regular makeup looks as well. There’s something magical about glitter that attracts me to it all the time. I went back to doing a gold glitter eyes today. I have done a version of gold glitter eyes before HERE complete with liner and kohl. I wanted to do a different version but with a same bling.

So now some tips on using glitter

If you use glitter, always use the one that is cosmetic grade. The ones that make brands sell are safe to be used on face and eyes. Don’t use any party glitter. it’s can be harsh and can really mess up with your delicate eye area. Keep this in mind even if you are getting makeup done by a makeup artist.
It’s always a good idea to do glitter eye makeup before you do foundation. You can take a cello tape and stick out all the excess glitter around your eyes / face etc. And then when you do foundation, you have a clean canvas to work with.
Use a solid glitter glue so that it sticks in place for hours.. I love the one by Kryolan and Liquid Sugar. Even NYX has a good glitter glue.
And most importantly have fun with glitter!

For this look I used taupe eyeshadow as a base because I wanted to gold to look a bit muted. And then I used a dark brown as a crease color. For waterline I used a copper eyeliner pencil on lower water line and black on upper waterline. finished off with lots of glitter and mascara. Can you image I did not use a highlighter for this makeup? Just use a glossy cream blush. I did not want the face to have any glitter since my eyes had enough bling already. Hope you like the look.
