My Experience with theBalm Sincere Meet Matt(e) Hughes Long Lasting Liquid Lipstick:
Let’s start with the packaging of the product. The liquid lipstick comes in a cream cardboard packaging with funky prints and fonts on it. The patterns are quite fun and looks nice. The same patterns are also printed on the liquid lipstick tube. The lipstick tube comes in a simple cylindrical shape and a see-through packaging. The shade name is mentioned at the base of the tube and also on the outer carton.
The tube closes securely with a regular screw on cap, which fits securely making it leak proof and travel friendly. The tube is sleek and fits in my clutch easily. The shape of the lipstick is fairly simple and helps to easily store them. The applicator is attached with the cap. The applicator wand is large enough and apt for proper application. The applicator is a regular soft foamy & doe foot type. The slant tip applicator makes the lipstick glides smoothly on the lips giving a perfect pout. Overall, the packaging is fun & travel friendly.
“Sincere” is a beautiful mauvish brown shade. It flatters my skin tone amazingly well, giving a gorgeous natural finish. The shade is apt for a wide variety of Indian skin tones. I really love the colour on my lips; it looks amazing during daytime also. The shade is subtle and suitable for those who do not prefer using bold shades. The finish is super matte and looks classy. It looks so velvety once it dries out completely.
There is no significant sheen or shimmer in this lipstick. It has a mild vanilla fragrance with some minty essence, which is pleasing and non bothersome. The mint gives a nice and cooling sensation to the lips. The color pay off of this shade is nice but it needs to be layered for a perfect opaque finish. Two-three swipes of this lipstick are required to get rich opaque color. It hides all the flaws and pigmentation of my lips leaving smooth finish.
The texture of the lipstick is nice and mousse like. The formula is so smooth. Hence, it glides effortlessly on the lips without any dragging. It never settles into the fine lines of the lips. It does not crumble at all. This shade does not streak at all and goes evenly on the lips. The lipstick is absolutely waterproof and smudge-proof. It is perfectly transfer proof and does not budge even after a full meal.
The formula is lightweight and feels super comfortable on the lips. It does not dry out the lips. The lipstick may highlight the dry patches of the lips, so it is mandatory to keep the lips properly exfoliated and moisturized, but this is really not a con of this lipstick. Prepping the lips well is mandatory for every matte lipstick. The lipstick dries out fairly quickly in some 40-50 seconds. Though, it feels slightly sticky initially but once it dries out completely, it feels like nothing is there on my lips and it is ultra-comfortable on the lips.
The lasting power of this shade is somewhere around 7 hours without any smearing or smudging of the color. Removing the lipstick is slightly difficult, as you will need a very good makeup remover to remover it perfectly.
