Skin Tone: Light to Medium with warm undertones
Skin Type: Combination
Hi everyone,
The “n*de lip” trend is very popular right now. Thanks to a certain Ms Kim Kardashian West. She is also collaborating with her sister Kylie to release a range of new n*de Kylie lip kit shades. As we all know, Kylie cosmetics and ColourPop is owned by the same owner. They are manufactured under Seed Beauty Lab. So, I can easily find a dupe for a Kylie lip kit in ColourPop’s vast range of shades. I wanted to try this n*de lip trend without hurting my budget. So, I purchased two shades Echo Park and Aquarius. Today, I will be reviewing “Echo Park.” So, let’s see how this shade fared for me.
Price:
$6.00 USD for 0.11oz
Product Description:
This warm peachy nude is perfect, whether you are cruising to Chinatown or Downtown.
How To Use:
Start by prepping the lips with Lippie Primer to moisturize and improve the lips texture. This will provide a smooth surface so that your Ultra Satin Lip goes on smoothly and lasts all day! Next, line with Lippie Pencil to perfect the lip line and fill lips in with Ultra Satin Lip.
My Experience with ColourPop Echo Park Ultra Satin Lip:
Packaging: The packaging is a pretty standard clear tube with holographic writing on the side – ColourPop Ultra Satin. The bottom of the tube specifies the name “Echo Park.” The tube has a silver cap. The applicator is a standard doe-foot type. The product comes in a white cardboard box with the name of the product and the ingredients list.
Shade and Finish: The shade is described as a “peachy n*de” color and is indeed a very gorgeous, cool-toned peachy-pink shade. If you have a light to medium skin tone and if you are searching for a n*de shade, then this shade is perfect for you. This shade is perfect to wear when you are sporting a dark smokey eye makeup. When you first apply the lipstick, it will have satiny finish; however, it turns matte as the time passes by. You can also blot it with paper if you need an instant matte lip look.
Texture and Application: The texture of this liquid lipstick is bit mousse-y and liquid-y. The main difference between ultra-matte and ultra-satin is that the ultra-satin formula doesn’t dry completely matte. It dries velvety matte within a few minutes once applied on the lips, so if there are any errors during application, you can easily correct them. The doe-foot applicator makes it easy to fill in the corners of the lips with ease. There is a chemical fragrance to the lipstick which personally doesn’t bother me. Another major difference between the ultra-matte and ultra-satin range is that the latter does not give kiss-proof, budge-proof finish. It does transfer a lot; however, it is very long lasting. It is advisable to exfoliate your lips to get that flawless finish. The ultra-satin formula doesn’t dry your lips and gives a smooth finish. They are the most comfortable liquid lipsticks to wear.
Pigmentation and Coverage: The lipstick is super pigmented and super opaque. It gives full coverage even if the lips are pigmented.
Staying Power: The staying power is really good with this lipstick. It stays on for around 6 hours without the need to reapply. However, it will start to fade if you eat oily meals.
Overall, I am really happy with the color payoff, texture and the longevity of the lipstick. The lipstick can be easily removed with an oil-based makeup remover.
