My Experience with Kama Ayurveda Organic Moringa Oil:
Moringa oil is derived from the seeds of Moringa oleifera and almost all parts of moringa can be used for medicinal and industrial use. It is also sometimes referred to as “ben oil” or “behen oil.” Kama’s Moringa Oil is cold pressed and pure. The oil is great for people with dry and dehydrated skin because it is high in oleic acid. You can use it both on the body and face. When you read about the benefits of Moringa oil , there are many, but it’s a great nourishing and conditioning oil. It is also a lovely carrier oil that can be mixed with other oils for added benefits.
Also, know that all the inflammatory properties of moringa are not well researched as yet. The benefits are based on studies in either small labs or traditional usages. This oil has a long shelf life, so makes it a popular ingredient to use in skincare lines.
The texture is lightweight and spreads easily on the skin. It also gets absorbed quickly. Moringa oil in general has antioxidants and anti-inflammatory properties. It has a light and lovely nutty fragrance. The smell is the nicest I have come across in an oil. It’s mild and very calming. It is pale yellow in color, exactly how it should be.
The oil broke me out like no other. On just the first use, I had white bumps on my forehead and cheeks. When that was fixed, I decided to give this a try again and it broke me out again. I literally just gave up. I think my skin reacted badly with this oil. I used it more before, (as per website’s directions), it broke me out and then I used just 3-4 drops (as per bottle’s directions), but it broke me out again. I would probably just use it on the body mixed with a moisturiser, not on its own.
The directions given on bottle and on website are not the same. The oil is really potent, so definitely follow the directions from bottle if you choose to use it. Take only 3-4 drops and remove after 20 minutes. As per the brand, this is not a “leave-on oil,” so keep that into consideration.
The packaging is bad. The oil is thick and the pump dispenser is not efficient enough to pull the oil out. So you have to open the bottle and use the oil. Use it at your own discretion; it did not work for me.
PS: If you are pregnant, wouldn’t recommend you to use this oil.
