20 Badass Beauty Bosses You Should be Following on Instagram
Okay ladies, now let’s get in formation. Though today is International Women’s Day and March is Women’s History Month, you might as well be in permanent celebration mode. You already know that women are constantly breaking boundaries, kicking ass and taking names across the board. But right now, that’s especially true within the beauty industry. As the demand for inclusivity and transparency continues to grow, so is the number of women-owned brands leading the charge and we couldn’t be prouder.
What makes these bosses particularly inspiring is their proven expertise combined with the fact that they actually use their own products. (Shocker, right?!) And thanks to Instagram, we have a front row seat to their journeys, some of which include behind-the-scenes magic budding entrepreneurs can get inspired by. The do-it-yourself spirit of the industry is stronger than ever, and although there are hundreds of thousands of woman-owned brands out there, these 20 bosses are at the top of their game and taking us along for the ride.
If you’d label yourself a beauty lover or makeup junkie, chances are you’re already familiar with some of them. If you’re not–and contemplating a big idea of your own–get motivated by adding these shot callers to your Instagram feed.

Glossier is by far one of today’s buzziest (and best reviewed) beauty brands, and we have Weiss, its founder, to thank for that. You may recall her journey started back in 2010, when she birthed “Into the Gloss,” a blog about grooming routines that’s still going strong in 2019.

Stephen’s famous clientele list includes Zendaya, Bebe Rexha, and the iconic Rihanna (that iconic black pixie was her work). However, you may not know that the hair guru also runs a successful hair salon in Brooklyn, New York.
