My Experience with Fenty Beauty Pro Filtr Instant Retouch Concealer:
Let’s begin with the packaging of the product. The concealer comes in a long, frosted finish, cylindrical plastic tube. The tube comes housed in the signature Fenty Beauty packaging. Product-related information is printed on this cardboard box. The sleek plastic tube packaging is good for carrying around. It has white screw on cap, which comes with a doe-foot applicator. The applicator makes the application really easy. Overall, the packaging is decent and travel friendly.
The concealer comes in a wide array of shades. I have picked up the shade “290.” Though it is a close match to my skin tone, it is slightly too neutral for me, looks flat on me. If it has a slight yellow tinge, it would have suited me better. I love using it for spot concealing. I did not find it too good for under-eye area. I have dry undereyes and I find it slightly drying and too matte for my under-eye area. I need to prep my undereyes really well to make this concealer work. It has a weird fragrance, it is not really annoying but it is not pleasing either.
The texture of the concealer is smooth and creamy, and quite thick. It has the right consistency for easy application and blending. The formula is lightweight and feels comfortable on the skin. It does not feel heavy on the skin. This concealer also looks very natural, even with layering. I like blending it with concealer brush and Beauty Blender.
The coverage does not sheer out with Beauty Blender. I love using makeup sponge more than makeup brushes as it imparts a very natural finish. I don’t like using my fingers for blending the concealer as it is matte and does not blend properly. I have pores on my skin and this concealer enhances the pores if I blend the concealer with fingers. So, it is essential to use a sponge or a brush to achieve flawless application. The coverage it provides is insanely good.
It covers flaws easily with a single swipe and give pretty much full coverage in a single application. It does not look heavy or cakey. It sets to a perfect matte finish and gives a flawless and natural-looking base. The concealer does not have creasing issue. It does not crease around the under-eye area even if I don’t set it for 15 minutes.
It does not make skin greasy. It stays fresh and natural all the time. It does not set too quickly, so I get enough time to work with it properly. The concealer stays for good 12 hours or so on normal skin type and that is the longest time I have worn it. It is really long lasting. Overall, this concealer is bomb!
