My Experience with VLCC Specifix Professional Deep Purifying Cleansing Gel:
This pack comes packed in pure white coloured tube which houses all the details about the product including product description and ingredient list in English. The tube has a broad green band on the top of it which gives it a different look packaging-wise. It comes with a white-coloured cap which closes tightly with a light click. The closure cap is leakage proof. All the products in the Specifix range bear almost the same kind of packaging.
It is actually quite convenient and hygienic to use since it comes in tube like form rather than in a tube like form. You just have to carefully squeeze out product from the tube to avoid any unwanted wastage. It comes in a 200 gm tube and retails for Rs 375 which is great at this price point. The packaging looks quite bulky in size even for the 200 gm size, so it might be a bit troublesome for travel-purposes. Overall, I love the colour-themed packaging and its sturdiness. It is simple but it is pretty.
This massage gel is forest green in colour. Inside the tube, the colour looks very intense, but when you take it in the palm, it looks light green gel. The consistency is more on the thicker side. It is enriched with witch hazel and triclosan. The fragrance is very refreshing to the senses and freshens up my mood. It is not strong or overpowering for sensitive noses.
The texture is very smooth and it spreads on the face very easily. The formulation is gentle and it is suitable for daily use. The formula is light-weight and does not cause any discomfort. I use this cleanser twice a day. A pea-size amount is enough to cover my face and neck. The product doesn’t produce rich lather. I just massage this thoroughly on my face in circular motions for about 5-7 minutes. Keep it for a while and then rinse off with cold water. No residue is left behind after washing and it is easy to rinse off as well.
Let’s talk about the performance of the product now. This purifying gel feels soothing on the skin and the effect is menthol kind of. It provides an instant cooling sensation just like menthol. This cleanser clears all oil and grime nicely without leaving any kind of residue or film on the face. It does not clear away dead cells, it just cleanses the face thoroughly. It does not rip the skin off all moisture in the name of deep cleansing of oily skin. This deeply purifies my skin and takes away excess oil and sebum and gives a nice matte look to the face. I don’t know how effective it is in removing pimples and acne but I feel such purifying gels do work for oily and pimple prone skin and eradicates the occurrence of such issues. The pores also look very refined and my skin texture also improved after using this.
I use the product to remove my makeup in the evening and it works well. It removes makeup, and when I use a toner after this, I don’t see any residue left on the cotton pad. This product removes normal makeup well. But, I usually prefer a makeup remover for eye makeup as that area is sensitive and I prefer not to bring this product in contact with my eyes. The product, even though cleanses the face completely, doesn’t make my skin feel dry. I have not noticed any dryness or stretching on my skin, which is otherwise quite common with such products. However, a moisturizer is a must and I always follow up with a moisturiser after using this.
The product didn’t cause any breakouts I felt my skin was less oily when I use the face wash. My face feels very radiant and fresh. It doesn’t hydrate my skin too much or make it noticeably softer but it gives a thoroughly cleansed face. Not to forget the cooling menthol sensation is a respite during hot and humid weathers. So, this can be a perfect companion during summers.
The only con of this product is parabens. Other than that, it is a nice cleansing and purifying gel and it is inexpensive. It gives a nice healthy and fresh look to the skin. I will buy this again.
