Hello Lovely Ladies,
I am introducing an another new Fude (Japanese Brush) brand today on IMBB. I did a quick search and was surprised that none of the amazing Chikuhodo brushes have ever been reviewed. So, let us rectify that situation quickly. This review is a on the T4 Blush Brush.

My Experience with Chikuhodo Takumi Series T4 Cheek Brush:
The Chikuhodo Takumi series is about low to mid priced – considering how Japanese Fude is priced. It consists of brushes with short stem, light handle and goat hair. The Takumi brushes are designed by Mr Tesshyu Takemori, who is the Chairman as well as one of the Presidents of Chikuhodo.
Brush Design: The brush consists of white goat hair in a round black ferrule and handle. It feels lightweight and yet well balanced in the hand. The brush length is smaller than normal say MAC brushes but is kind of typical of Japanese fude. The brush head has medium thickness. The black handle has “By Tesshyu Takemori” written on it along with the brush number – T4.

Hair Type: Goat hair but Saikoho goat hair – which is one of the softest goat hair. This makes the brush super soft on the skin and yet have tenacity (because it is goat hair).

Hair Colour: Un-Dyed Hair.
To Be Used With: For use with Powder products.
Purpose: As the name suggests – it is designed for blush application.
Application: The brush is designed for Blush application but in reality – it is a multipurpose brush. The surface to work with is the top of the brush – meaning the tips of the hair bristles. Being goat hair, it picks up the product well. Being Saikoho hair – the brush bristles are extremely soft and caress the skin gently. The medium density of the brush head allows for sufficient movement of the bristles without it splaying too much. This ensures the application is more precise and yet blended in. The goat hair have less give then say, squirrel hair – so they blend more effectively.

The brush works well for application of pretty much any face product – blush, bronzer, contour, even highlight, for blending everything together or for finishing powder. I just LOVE this one. This is definitely my most favourite brush and one which I wouldn’t mind having multiples of – but for the price!
Pros of Chikuhodo Takumi Series T4 Cheek Brush:

- Natural Saikoho goat hair.
- Extremely effective for its identified job.
- Did not shed on washing.
- Quite a workhorse.
- Gives clean diffused application.
- Extremely soft bristles.
- Short handled.
Cons of Chikuhodo Takumi Series T4 Cheek Brush:
- Nothing at all.
IMBB Rating: 5/5
Before this – I tried the Chikuhodo Z4 and prior to that, I was using the MAC 116 for blush application. This brush changed my whole blush game in such a huge way – I can’t even begin to explain. I am naturally heavy handed and tend to buy more pigmented blushes. Together – it would end up as blotchy mess on my face. This brush helped me understand how diffused and natural a blush can look. It is all about the hair quality, length, shape and density which Chikuhodo has got just right with this one!
