Skin Type: Dry and occasionally acne-prone
Skin Tone: Fair with neutral undertones
Hello beauties,
I am that type of a person who focusses a lot on perfecting the base makeup. Since my face is prone to dryness and is hugely affected by environmental changes, I need to make sure that my face looks radiant and fresh all the time. Even though matte foundations are something I prefer most of the time, foundations that give a dewy radiant look is not something that I skip completely. When L.A. Colors launched their Radiant Liquid Makeup Foundation in the Indian market, I was so eager to try this out. So, you guessed it right. Today’s review is on L.A. Colors Radiant Liquid Makeup Foundation. Read on to know more about this product.

My Experience with L.A. Colors Radiant Liquid Makeup:
Packaging: The foundation comes in a pretty, clear, plastic bottle with a clear black cap. It has a pump dispenser which makes it a user-friendly packaging, and at $6 price tag, it is really a nice, travel-friendly, lightweight bottle. The nozzle drops the perfect amount of foundation, according to how much pressure you apply on the tube. This kind of packaging definitely saves product wastage. So overall, I like this packaging. This bottle has 28.5 ml of the product which is definitely better than what other drugstore foundations offer in terms of quantity.

Shade: Coming to the shade options, it is available in 14 shades. The shade options are great and caters to the needs of all skin tones. I like how the shades from this range have been named like Ivory, Vanilla, Beige, and Fair etc. This, in fact, helped me chose the right foundation and I was sure of buying the shade “Fair” as it sounded good to me. But, it contains no hint about the category of undertone each shade falls under. So, even if you choose the right shade, you might end up choosing the wrong category.

I am fair with neutral undertones and I have the tendency to get tanned during summers. I picked the shade “Fair” which is described as for fair skin tones. I avoided picking the lighter shades “Ivory” and “Vanilla” because, I felt that they don’t go with Indian skin tones and would make my face look extra white. I was not exactly sure about my shade match but the shade ‘Fair’ was a close match to my natural skin tone. Luckily, I am happy that I picked the right one. With foundations, I try to pick the shade that matches my skin tone closely because, I love natural finish. Also, I liked the application and it sets into a nice finish once I am done with my makeup.
Coverage: Let’s talk about the coverage now. It doesn’t leave any white cast behind. It looks so fresh and nice on me. Also, the shade is well pigmented that provides good medium to full coverage. It can hide all the imperfections like spots, pigmentation, uneven skin tones, but you have to build up the shade for the best coverage. It is definitely not a high coverage foundation, so don’t expect miracles with it. It can hide redness and darkness around the eye area. If you have major issues on your face, this may not be able to conceal every imperfection. It is very suitable for everyday use. Overall, this sets to a smooth flawless finish which I love about this foundation.

Texture: I usually apply this on my primed facial skin. When I first tried the foundation on my hand, I liked how it made my skin tone even and my skin soft. As I went on to try this on my face with the help of my beauty blender, it perfectly evened out my skin tone and enhanced my complexion. My face looks decent since the foundation does not cake up but, it still has the look of foundation. But, there is one major problem with this foundation. Being a radiant foundation, I expected a truly radiant glow at an instant. But, let me tell you, this doesn’t provide the much needed radiance that the foundation claims. It provides a fresh look but don’t expect a truly dewy and radiant finish with this.
It has nice thick creamy usable consistency that glides so well on skin and blends effortlessly on it. I have used this foundation using both brush and a sponge, but I feel that a sponge helps in better blendability. I have also dabbed this foundation on my face with my fingers in small dots and blended them using my fingers. It blends well in that way also. It doesn’t feel heavy, but not the lightest one too. It feels comfortable on the skin and never feels patchy too, but still I can feel something on face. This provides good hydration to skin and never clings to dry patches. Even in this winter, it keeps the skin soft and smooth throughout the day and controls it from being shiny. It is actually good for all skin types. It is not very dry not very dewy, rather it provides a finish which falls in the intermediate level. Also, it never clogs my pores. It has suited my skin well and I have not faced any breakouts with this.
Staying Power: On my skin, it stays really long, for around 6-7 hours without any creasing except on my T-zone and forehead. My face started getting oily after 4-5 hours in this humid weather and then I had to set it again with a loose powder. It is really good for dry weather but for extremely humid weather the oil control duration won’t be very long. Also, the shade oxidizes a bit after a few hours of wear.
Overall: It is a budget-friendly foundation but its performance is not like high-end brands’ foundations. It performs decently as a foundation but the primary impression of it as the radiance booster is not something I agree to. Overall, it gives a fresh feel to my face and is good for daily use. Also, there are many shades available, so you can always find a match close to your skin tone.
