My Experience with Covergirl Oh Sugar! Vitamin Infused Balm Gumdrop:
Let’s begin the review with the packaging of the product. The lip balm comes in a beautiful tube. The packaging looks like a lipstick tube. The lip balm tube is white in color and has a long color-coded cap. The cap bears the brand’s tagline on it. The cap shuts securely with a click sound making it fit for carrying around. The color-coded cap helps to easily spot the shade from stash. I like the packaging; it is quite cool and has a nice metallic finish to it. Overall, it is cute, sleek and travel friendly.
The shape of the lip balm is regular bullet type, which helps to achieve precise application. The lip balm has a strong vanilla fragrance, which stays for quite long, so itmight irritate people with sensitive noses.
The shade “Gumdrop” is a pretty purplish kind of color. It looks nice on the lips and will flatter most of the Indian skin tones. It brightens up the complexion. This is a pretty shade for college going girls, who don’t really like wearing lipsticks. Starting with a tinted lip balm is always a good choice for teenagers and beginners. The lip balm is pigmented and gives nice semi-opaque coverage to the lips. It may not be able to cover pigmented lips completely but it may hide mild lip pigmentation easily.
The texture of the lip balm is great. It is very smooth and creamy. It is really buttery smooth. Hence, it glides on the lips effortlessly without any dragging of the lips. It is non sticky and feels comfortable on the lips. The formula is lightweight and it does not feel waxy on the lips. But, I can still feel its presence on my lips. The lip balm does not come with any SPF, which is the only con of this lip balm. Therefore, it is not great to be used under the sun. It is a good option for people with dry lips as it is very moisturizing and hydrating. The formula is very nourishing and helps to heal my dry lips very well. My lips stay hydrated for long after applying this lip balm even when the lip balm is wiped off. The color settles into the fines lines after a few hours and gives an ugly appearance.
The lasting power of the lip balm is somewhere around 3-4 hours on my lips. In the mean time, it loses its glossy sheen and color. But, the hydration lasts longer. Overall, I quite love this lip balm.
