This article is a review of one of It’s Skin highlighter in a shade that I thought would suit me well. I have had bad experiences with Korean makeup brands because their shade range, in my opinion, is not diverse. They are exclusively meant for cool toned, ultra-fair skin beauties. I do not hoard highlighters and at a time keep only one or perhaps at most two that I use for my everyday makeup needs. I needed this It’s Skin Babyface Petit Highlighter Pink Satin to my cart only because the packaging fascinated me and since I know that I can only wear cool highlighters, I thought perhaps this shade might work for me.
Product Description:

My Experience with It’s Skin Babyface Petit Highlighter Pink Satin:
This product comes in a cute, cookie shaped, circular packaging. The bottom half of the packaging holds the product in an aluminium pan. The bottom half is in the color of the highlighter and the flip lid is made up of translucent plastic. A cute, fluffy applicator with a bow on top is provided. The product comes in a decent-sized pan and will last a while but I don’t see myself using it at all, so it might last forever.
This highlighter is supposed to be a cool-toned pink with mild glitter since I exclusively use only cool-toned blushes and highlighters, I thought this shade will be a perfect match for me. Unfortunately, this shade is chalky, it appears chalky even on finger swatches. I had the same issue with Etude House Strawberry Blush. A product which leaves a white cast is justified if it contains SPF, otherwise, I see no purpose to add a white chalky finish. This is my biggest qualm with Korean makeup products. First, they don’t cater to all the skin tones and second, they have unnecessary white cast. This shade might appear pretty on very pale skin tone and add very subtle, natural glow but that makes this shade exclusive for a very niche crowd. The amount of glitter is low that it will barely add any glow to face, and especially not suitable for people who like dramatic highlighting.
The product appears chalky but it has a good texture. The texture is that of a creamy and powdery product combined. It can be picked up easily with a fluffy blush brush, applied on the cheeks, and blended into a seamless finish. The texture alone is not sufficient to save this product. The shade and glitter are both disappointing.
This product is affordable and since it is by the brand “It’s Skin,” I hope it is well made and gentle on skin because the ingredient list is not disclosed in English. This product comes in two different shades and does not cover a wide shade range.
Pros of It’s Skin Babyface Petit Highlighter Pink Satin:
- Affordable, well-made highlighter.
- Comes in a decent-sized pan, will last for a while even if used regularly.
- The texture is smooth and easy to blend.
- Can be picked up easily with a fluffy brush and applied on the cheeks and blended into a seamless finish.
- Comes in a cute, cookie shaped, circular packaging with a cute, fluffy applicator with a bow on top.
- Comes in two different shades.
Cons of It’s Skin Babyface Petit Highlighter Pink Satin:
- This shade is not for me, leaves a white cast, looks unnatural on my face.
- The glitter density is low and certainly not meant for dramatic highlighting.
- Only two shades are available, does not cover a wide range of skin tones.
Would I Repurchase/Recommend It’s Skin Babyface Petit Highlighter Pink Satin?
This highlighter has good texture and blends well, but I do not recommend this product since it leaves unnecessary white, chalky cast and has a low glitter density.
