My Experience with Kiko Milano Smart Colour Eyeshadow 11 Pearly Lotus:
Kiko Milano Smart Colour Eyeshadow comes in a range of 22 beautiful shades with three types of finishes- matte, pearly and metallic. The shade range is intriguing and it left me befuddled, so I got quite a few of them from each type of finish to know how good they work.
Packaging: Let’s begin with the packaging of the product. The eye shadow pot comes packed inside a black cardboard cover that has a hole in the middle, so you can spot the shade through the hole of the cover. As you know all Kiko Milano products come packed in black packaging, so this kind of packaging was nothing new to me. The eye shadow comes packed in a square pot with rounded ends and has a clear flip lid.
The name of the brand is mentioned on the back of the square pot and also on the front of the black cardboard cover in white fonts. On the back side of the container and also on the body of the outer cover, the shade name of the eye shadow is mentioned. The size of the container is small, so it looks very cute and girly. It can be carried around conveniently everywhere. Overall, I love the packaging of these cute little pot eye shadows from Kiko Milano.
Shade: The shade “11 Pearly Lotus” is a very pale kind of purplish pink colour. The colour doesn’t look bold, but it looks much muted. You can actually spot finely milled silver particles in this shadow. But when you swatch it, these silver particles diffuse completely and give a stunning look to your eyes. You would not spot any shimmers clearly visible after you have applied it.
This colour is perfect to create a lid colour for the eye before you work with other colours. If you want a very subdued makeup look for the day and don’t want to overdo your eye makeup, then it can be used as a single shadow in that case. The colour looks pearly and is certain to uplift your eye makeup game. I love this kind of muted shades for everyday wear. It will go with all skin tones.
Pigmentation: The pigmentation of these eye shadows is decent and not bang-on. You will get a decent colour payoff at 1-2 swipes. For fuller coverage and maximum colour payoff, I need 3-4 swipes. The colour payoff is really good, but it could have been much better. But I don’t have much complains as it is really affordable. The colour occupies the lids properly, so I must say that they have a good pigmentation.
Texture and Finish: As per the product description, the eye shadows are meant to give pearly finish to the eyes. On using this for the first time, I found the texture to be very smooth and non-gritty. It blends well with other shadows and can be used to create beautiful looks. The application did not feel uncomfortable on the eyes. The formulation is neither very creamy nor very powdery. It just has the right amount of consistency and gives a lightweight feel post application.
When I swatched this shade, I noticed a smooth and even finish with very less perceptible glitters or shimmers in it. It just imparts the right amount of pearly finish to the eye.
This eye shadows can be applied both with a brush and even with your fingers. But, a brush helps in better blending. The look will be more intensified if you wet your brushes and apply this. The shades don’t feel patchy and ensure a smooth finish post application. Overall, I really love the texture of these shades and their amazing finish.
Staying Power: These shades stay in place for a decent amount of time without any creasing. They last for about 5-6 hours which I think are good at this price value.
If you have oily lids, you will definitely need a primer prior to application; otherwise the intensity will gradually fade away. These shades are easy to remove as well. They come off easily with any makeup remover. The fine shimmer particles also don’t create any mess and are removed easily.
Overall: I really loved this super affordable and pretty colour from Kiko. It is really useful and works well as an eyeshadow. If you want to collect different colours but don’t want to empty your pockets much, this range is a steal deal. Overall, I am happy with the purchase.
