For the past one month, I have been trying to review Morphe products. These products were part of my Moprhe haul and since I enjoyed using all of them, I tried to expand my makeup brush collection a bit. The face brushes that I have an eye on are slightly more expensive, so I have been buying them as and when I find some petty cash. I have been using Real Techniques Blush Brush all this while and since it lost its “softness,” I decided to invest in a better one. Morphe R2 has been out of stock in my local Ulta for past two months, but last week, it was in stock and I immediately grabbed it, and here’s my review on Morphe R2 Pro Tapered Powder Brush.
Product Description:
This rounded, slightly fanned-out brush is an excellent choice for that one brush that can do it all – powder, blush and bronzer. The soft, synthetic bristles will apply product evenly and the pinched base lets you angle the brush for versatility. Synthetic Bristles

My Experience with Morphe R2 Pro Tapered Powder Brush:
This brush looks very elegant and well made. Its appearance is comparable to other more expensive competitors. It has a thick, matte black stem with a rose gold metal case to hold the brush bristles. The bristles have an ombre effect – dark grey at the base and cream white on top. In pictures, the top white part appears pink because I have been using it for my blush application.
I bought this brush because of its versatility. It can be used for powder, blush or bronzer application. I however, use it only for blush because firstly, I do not like to use a single brush for multiple uses for sanitary reasons and also, applying different products of different shades with the same brush ruins a product application. Secondly, I use a separate brush, Morphe E41 for powder application to larger areas and for smaller areas and bronzing, I have other brushes that I will review soon.
This brush is not dome shaped like the usual blush brushes. It is flattened from one side and hence has a tapered appearance. This feature makes this brush ideal for brush application and for applying bronzer in the hollows of cheeks. It is fluffy and “baby” soft to touch. It picks up decent amount of product in one go without over-absorbing the product and blends the product seamlessly into perfection.
I use this brush vigorously to blend product, but still it does not shed, and that is a plus because bristle shedding is a sign of cheap manufacturing. It can be spot cleaned easily (I use rubbing alcohol for that purpose). To deep clean it and remove all the residual product, I use a mild dish cleaning detergent.
Pros of Morphe R2 Pro Tapered Powder Brush:
- In appearance and performance, it is comparable to its more expensive competitors.
- It is flattened from one side and has a tapered appearance which makes it ideal for blush and bronze application.
- The bristles are made up of an artificial material and is easy to clean and do not shed. It picks up good amount of product without over absorbing the product which leads to wastage.
- It is versatile and can be used for powder, blush and bronzer.
- It blends a product seamlessly.
Cons of Morphe R2 Pro Tapered Powder Brush:
- Availability can be an issue for some. Consumers outside USA might have to use third-party seller to buy Morphe products and might be forced to pay higher than the actual retail price.
- It can be slightly more expensive for some of us.
- It needs deep cleaning to remove all the residual product.
Would I Repurchase Morphe R2 Pro Tapered Powder Brush?
This makeup brush by Morphe is versatile, well-made and an ace performer. I strongly recommend it to the readers.
