Skin Tone: Medium to Dusky
Hello all,
Here I am with another Sephora Collection #Lipstories Lipstick. Today I am going to review the shade 29 Malt Shake. Here’s how it fared.
Price: $8
Product Description:
#LIPSTORIES
This is lipstick for real life, not just ring lights—lipsticks for celebrating the wild adventures, best moments, and magical memories in your life. So grab a shade or four and take your lipstick outside. See you out there!
What it is:
A high-pigment, lightweight lipstick that provides full-coverage color in one swipe. Available in 40 shades and three finishes: matte, cream, and metal.
My Experience with Sephora Collection #Lipstories Lipstick 29 Malt Shake:
Sephora Collection #Lipstories Lipsticks are ultra-affordable bullet lipsticks which are available in a wide variety of shades and three different finishe, i.e. matte, metallic and cream. Sephora has named these as #Lipstories as Sephora aims for you to create your own story across social media using these lipsticks with the hashtag #lipstories.
It feels like these lipstick shades can evoke a certain memory or even create a new one and each of these lipsticks is inspired by a story, adventure, or experience in your life that has happened or is waiting for you to create. I think that this is a cute idea and a completely affordable one as well as they are a mere eight US dollars each, which means you can happily pick up a few shades without breaking the bank.
Packaging:
The packaging of these is super cute and individualized for each shade. The packaging depicts the stories behind the lipstick shade; for example, a shade called ‘Berrylicious’ has berry pictures embossed on the cardboard casing. There is also a color-coded band at the bottom of the bullet, which depicts the shade of the lipstick.
Though the packaging is cute, it still feels cheap as the caps are made out of cardboard, and the bases are made out of plastic. This does not really bother me as the quality of the lipstick itself is amazing and we can’t ask for more at this price.
Shade:
As I already told, there are three finishes in these lippies: matte, cream and metallic. Depending on which finish you get, either #metal, #matte or #cream is embossed in the side of the lipstick bullet, which is a nice detail. These come in a whopping array of forty shades, there is something for everyone. ‘Malt Shake’ is a deep dark chocolate brown shade that falls under the cream category. This is a universally flattering color that will look good on all skin tones.
Formula:
The formula of these lipsticks is amazing. These lipsticks are super lightweight, comfortable and have a creamy texture that gives an easy, smooth glide across my lips. The pigmentation is incredible and the color is fully opaque in a single swipe. There is no particular fragrance or flavour to these. These apply very well without tugging and pulling. Since these are cream lipsticks they give a slight beautiful sheen to the lips.
Staying Power:
Since these are regular lipsticks they last about four to five hours. They do transfer to everything, but that doesn’t stop them from leaving a stain behind even when the whole lipstick wears off.
These Sephora lipsticks also have an incredible value for money. They give about 4g of product – which is more than most of the lipsticks in the market – for a mere $8. Overall, these are amazing and I give them full marks.
Pros of Sephora Collection #Lipstories Lipstick 29 Malt Shake:
• Cute packaging
• Deep chocolate brown shade
• Creamy Consistency
• Cream finish
• Insane pigmentation
• Comfortable
• Lightweight
Cons of Sephora Collection #Lipstories Lipstick 29 Malt Shake:
