Last month I had reviewed two vibrant shades of ColourPop Lux Lipstick – On Repeat and On Display. The shade I’m reviewing in this post is called ‘Money Side Up’, which is a light shade of pink that every girl would love to have. Let’s see how it fared.
Price: $7
Product Description:
LUX it up. Enriched with our LUX Blend of butter, this creamy-matte, long-wearing lipstick glides on the skin for intense pigmentation in shades made for every skin tone. This bubblegum pink knows the meaning of expensive taste.
Packaging:
The packaging of the ColourPop Lux Lipstick is luxurious. The lipstick comes in a beautiful metal rose gold packaging with small gold stars all over it. The lipstick tube has a little weight to it. There is a small color-coded sticker at the base of the lipstick tube, which indicates the shade name. The lipstick comes in a white cardboard outer packaging with the ingredient list. The bullet of the lipstick also has stars embossed on it. Overall, the packaging is very luxurious, sturdy and travel-friendly.
Texture:
The lipstick has intense pigmentation. It feels very lightweight on the lips. The lipstick is infused with acai, jojoba and pomegranate seed butters. It gives a lot of nourishment to my dry lips. The lipstick is very easy to apply. The lipstick gives a plump and fuller look to my lips. It has a faint vanilla scent to it, which is not overpowering.
Staying Power:
It doesn’t have an impressive staying power. It lasts 2-3 hours and does fade a lot after an oily meal. The fading of the lipstick is also uniform and neat. Since it has a satin formula, it does transfer but not crazily.
My Experience with ColourPop Lux Lipstick Money Side Up:
The tube is gorgeous and feels very luxurious and heavy. It not just looks luxurious but is very sturdy, hence the chances of it breaking is less because we ladies are quite messy sometimes. The luxe packaging succumbs to the cost. Lining the lips with a lip liner would definitely help achieve a sculpted look.
The shade is a cool-toned everyday pink that has the slightest sheen to it, which doesn’t bother me, but if you are looking for an ultra-matte finish, this isn’t the lipstick you should pick up. It also feels quite moisturizing throughout the wear time. With eating and drinking, I did notice feathering.
The color is cool-toned pink but doesn’t appear that bad on my yellow skin tone. It is indeed nicely pigmented and one swipe is enough to get good coverage. The lipstick applies well and feels extremely smooth on the lips without feeling patchiness or streaks. It has a pleasant fragrance to it.
Pros of ColourPop Lux Lipstick Money Side Up:
• Luxe packaging
• Extremely pigmented
• Nice everyday color
• Smooth and even application
• Beautiful shade that will suit a variety of skin tones
• Long lasting
• Feels hydrating throughout the wear time
Cons of ColourPop Lux Lipstick Money Side Up:
• Transfers while eating or drinking
• Availability issues
IMBB Rating: 4.4/5
Would I Repurchase/Recommend ColourPop Lux Lipstick Money Side Up?
No, I won’t repurchase. If you don’t care much about the staying power and want to try this new collection, then this product is worth a try.
