Hey lovelies,
I am very picky about sunscreens, and till now, only two sunscreens have worked well for me – they are Neutrogena Ultra Sheer Dry Touch Sunblock SPF 50+ and Lotus Herbals 3 in 1 Matte Look Daily Sunblock SPF 40.I was looking out for a good sunblock that was also water resistant, especially because I go for swimming. Let’s get into the review of this VLCC Water Resistant Sunscreen Gel Crème SPF 60 PA+++ to find out whether it lived up to my expectations or not.
Price:
INR 495 for 100 gm.
Product Description:
A powerful hydrophobic formulation that provides long-lasting, water-resistant sun protection against harmful UVA and UVB rays thus preventing premature skin ageing and tanning. Enriched with Ceramide III, Niacinamide and Olive Oil, Carrot Extract, its Water Resistant formula makes it ideal for use for long duration sun exposure like when playing sports or swimming or outdoor activities.

My Experience with VLCC Water Resistant Sunscreen Gel Creme SPF 60 PA+++:
This VLCC sunscreen comes in a bright canary yellow tube with an orange flip cap. The flip cap shuts with a click and makes the tube leak proof. Product details are neatly printed on the tube, I find this tube travel friendly.
The pleasant scent makes me very happy. It has a refreshing aqua-based scent, which is soothing. The scent lingers around for at least 10-15 minutes after application. The consistency of this sunscreen is like a thick cream. It is slightly on the heavier side and would take some effort in blending properly. The best way to work with it is to take lesser quantity each time and spread on the skin gently. Applying too much at one go might leave a greasy whitish cast on top of the skin.
The good thing about this product – it is great in providing sun protection. I apply it on my face, hands and neck (or exposed areas) and my skin is protected for a good amount of time. In fact, I took a vacation in Goa and returned with no tan. I had spent long hours outdoors, on the beach and in the water, and I was surprised that I just appeared slightly tanned. This is surprising considering that my fair to medium complexion gets tanned very easily.
If I use it on face, I dust a little powder to make it matte. There is no sunburn or redness, or dryness associated with this sunscreen. My skin stays hydrated and well protected. During swimming also, I feel it prevents tanning over a prolonged period. It is soothing on skin, paraben free and doesn’t irritate or break out skin. However, it might be very heavy for oily-skinned ladies and is recommended only if you need high level sun protection.
