Hair type: Wavy, dry hair with oily scalp prone to frizziness
Hair colour: Dark brown
Hello friends,
With pollution touching skyrocketing levels these days, one thing that suffers the most is hair. These delicate lustrous locks need to be taken care of in order to maintain the natural shine. Living in a metropolitan city like Kolkata comes with its own set of problems. Over the years, the quality of my hair has deteriorated a lot and my hair has become prone to extreme dryness with an oily scalp. I always keep searching for good shampoos that can help to restore the natural moisture giving healthy looking hair. FabIndia is one such Indian brand which is famous for manufacturing quality products. Fortunately, most of the products have never disappointed me. Recently, I picked their ‘Honey Oatmeal Shampoo’, which is mainly useful for combating the dryness of hair. Let’s get into the review of this product now.
Price: INR 350
Product Description:
Fabindia Honey Oatmeal Shampoo For Dry Hair in infused with the sweetness of Honey and the richness of Oatmeal and together both helping to treat dry and damaged hair. Honey helps retain hair moisture and Oat is a natural moisturizer which treats dryness and itchiness. Fabindia Honey Oatmeal Shampoo will nourish and moisturize the scalp and reduce dryness making the hair appear healthier and smooth.
Directions of Use:
Apply to wet hair and gently massage into hair and scalp. Leave on for 4-5 minutes for effective results.
My Experience with FabIndia Honey Oatmeal Shampoo:
The Fabindia Honey Oatmeal Shampoo is enriched with the goodness of honey and oatmeal extracts. Honey, which is good for its moisturising properties, and oatmeal help to arrest dryness and itchy scalp problems. Both these ingredients are said to be great for dry hair. So basically, this shampoo is available in only one size in the market which is 200 ml. There are no other options for buying it in smaller or bigger sizes.
Packaging:
The packaging is simple, sturdy and sleek. It comes in a tall white bottle with a flip-open cap. Having a flip-open type cap is not good as such caps are not very strong when you are travelling and tend to break easily. The cap dispenses the right quantity of product, hence avoiding any unwanted wastage.
All the product details pertaining to the description, directions of use and ingredient details are listed on the body of the bottle in a detailed fashion. It would have been beneficial if the product was available in smaller sizes for travelling purpose. Other than that, there are no significant issues with the packaging.
Texture and Consistency:
This shampoo is white in colour. The consistency of this shampoo is neither very thick nor very runny; it has a medium consistency. It has a mild pleasant fragrance which I think will not be bothersome for sensitive noses. The fragrance lingers on my hair after washing for quite a few hours. Personally, I love shampoos whose fragrance lasts longer. One thing about the product which I did not like is that it contains SLES. So this is not a chemical-free product.
Results:
I have been using this shampoo for over a month now. You would not need a lot of product. A little goes a long way. It lathers well and effectively cleanses my oily scalp. After shampooing my hair, the freshness remains intact for about 2 days. So, I would also recommend people who want a mild cleansing shampoo to try this out.
I skipped using a conditioner to test how effectively the product lives up to its claims. Initially, when I started using the product I did not notice any significant change during the first week. There was no improvement to combat the dryness of my hair. From the 2nd week onwards, I found a change in the quality of hair that came with regular use. My hair became silky, shiny and smoother than before.
Also, the frizziness came under control and I could manage my hair even without the use of a conditioner or a serum. My wavy hair felt so nourished unlike before. I also did not witness any hair fall after using this shampoo. It also added a good volume to my hair and this product suited me so well. All I can say is that the honey oatmeal combo is great for dry hair. The results are so quick and did wonders for my otherwise frizzy hair.
Overall:
I am really happy with the purchase. This shampoo is a decent purchase if you want to try something new. But it performs no extraordinary job. However, if you want a gentle dryness combating shampoo, then you can definitely go ahead and buy this!
