My Experience with Elle 18 Color Pops Matte Lipstick Pink Curve:
Elle 18 lipsticks come in a very classic black plastic packaging with a girl in pink printed over it. The plastic isn’t sturdy. The rotating/retractable mechanism works very well and the cap shuts with a click. The sticker at the bottom displays the shade number and name. It isn’t color-coded, so it’s difficult to quickly find the shade you’re looking for. Also, there is no list of ingredients mentioned anywhere on the packaging.
I don’t know what’s up with Elle 18 and their shade naming system! Because, clearly, they can’t distinguish reds and pinks! This shade called ‘Pink Curve’ is nothing close to a pink shade that you might be imagining about! In fact, it is a red lipstick with a slight hint of orange. One can’t even call it a proper red or orange color let alone ‘Pink Curve’! The name is very misleading!
This lipstick is nicely pigmented and goes on super smoothly. You only need 2-3 coats for a bold pout. The texture is creamy and very comfortable on the lips. It doesn’t dry out my lips and I can wear this shade for a very long time without using a lip balm. It doesn’t highlight the dry patches or settle into the fine lines of the lips. It is moisturizing on the lips. It settles to a creamy matte finish after 30 minutes of wear.
The staying power is up to 5 hours. It survives light meals, but it fades evenly after dinner/lunch or if you eat oily food. I have been wearing this lipstick for 5 hours now and it looks good. It has faded just a bit it does transfer a bit. But overall, I am impressed. I love the shade as it brightens up the whole look and it’s such a nice shade which will suit all the skin tones.
