Bath and Body Works Ginger and Cardamom + Natural Ginger Oil Body Oil with Olive Oil Review
Hello Beauties,
I have been an ardent fan of Bath and Body Works products, but unfortunately, it’s difficult to get most of these here in India. I really don’t know how they come up with different combinations for their skin products as the same way we do trial and error in the kitchen. So, this time around it was their spice range that intrigued me. They say that it works best when it’s used with the entire range i.e. Body Oil, Body scrub, Body Wash and Body cream, and I picked up four of their products. Not that I was a big fan of their smell, but I thought I should give it a try.
Price:
$16.50 for 6 fl.Oz (176 ml).
Product Description:
Made with natural ginger essential oil & European olive oil, our nourishing body oil moisturizes skin so it feels silky soft.
Fragrance:
This body oil has a very strong spicy aroma which graduates to a light and pleasant scent.
Key Ingredients:
Packaging: This comes in a brown plastic bottle with a golden roll on cap. As you open it, the mouth of the bottle is sealed with a plastic cover with a hole in between, to let the right amount of oil to flow out. So, you need not put that extra effort of heating an iron rod and piercing through it (which I find very troublesome). It’s a convenient and fuss-free plastic bottle which is very convenient to use and carry. I love the details of the packaging which has designs in turquoise and product description in white. The cap is quite secure and hence there is no chance of product leakage. It’s a 176 ml bottle and it is travel-friendly. But I really doubt if you would want to take body oil while travelling, at least I don’t.
My Experience with Bath and Body Works Ginger and Cardamom + Natural Ginger Oil Body Oil with Olive Oil:
I have extremely dry and sensitive skin and I try to use oil based washes or body oils to keep the dry skin at bay. Being a south Indian, I cannot compromise any body oil with sesame oil, so I use this as a carrier oil along with that. The consistency is just perfect, not very thick or watery. It is very easy to apply too. It is a transparent oil and doesn’t feel very greasy when you apply it. It absorbs into the skin so quickly leaving your skin silky and smooth. Rather than applying it on your dry skin, I always wet my body before I use it for easy absorption. That’s just how I like to apply it, not as per the instructions on the bottle. It has natural ginger oil and olive oil, which are both known for its skin enhancing properties. Post application, it gives you a nice sheen and skin feels soft and moisturized.
I am not sure about what ginger and cardamom does for the skin, but the presence of natural oils did make a lot of difference. It also has sunflower, grape seed oil, which together makes it the best skin savior. A little amount is good enough and this will last you very long. It really pampers the skin and leaves your skin soft, supple and pampered. I also like to use it along with moisturiser or packs that I use for my skin. I put a few drops and voila happy and soft skin is here to stay.
One thing which I don’t like much about this body oil is the smell. It has a pretty strong fragrance but mellows down gradually. It maybe because of the presence of spices in it. I personally prefer mild smells than the strong ones.
