“Bravery is being the only one that knows you are afraid!”

Have you ever seen one of those styles around and you haven’t quite committed whether you think it would work for you or not?  Today’s post is about one of those pieces of clothing for me…

I have always loved the look of wearing shorts in winter with some fun tights and booties.  I decided to give it a go, with Black velvet shorts, a fitted Black sweater, Black booties and some fun Gold winter tights.  I have to admit at first I was a little undecided about how I felt about it, but after wearing it for a few minutes and looking back at some of the shots…I decided I do indeed like this look on me.

It’s easy to wear the same things over and over, whether that’s the same styles or the same colors – either way, I think it’s fun and sometimes a little scary to put yourself out there enough to know people are going to notice, what are they going to think?  What am I going to think?  etc.

I think we all have a tendency to worry about how others view us, but it’s when that worrying causes us to not be who we truly are that the problems start.  I look at it like this, if we don’t want to be judged or not viewed the way we really are, then we should probably not judge others or ourselves.  I was very fortunate growing up that my parents encouraged me to embrace my uniqueness as essentially march to the beat of my own drum!  But, there have still been times when I have felt less than confident, or even just nervous about being myself.  It truly wasn’t until I realized that how I feel about myself really has nothing to do with anyone else – it’s my choice!

After all…you are confined only by the walls you build yourself!!!
