Huda Beauty – talk of the town! I have some lipsticks from the brand and I am very fond of the formula. Huda Beauty recently launched the Obsessions Eyeshadow Palettes, which are available in four color themes: Warm Brown, Mauve, Smokey, and Electric Obsessions. The Mauve Obsessions is the one I became ‘obsessed’ with. So, here is the review about Huda Beauty Obsessions Eyeshadow Palette Mauve.

Suggested Usage:
– Blend the shadows seamlessly together, using darker shades in the crease, and lighter hues along the brow bone and inner corners of the eye.
– Using a smudge or liner brush, apply one of the darker shades along the top and bottom lash line.
– With your ring finger, or with setting spray on an eyeshadow brush, apply the shimmer shade to the center of your eyelid to amp up the glamour.

My Experience with Huda Beauty Obsessions Eyeshadow Palette Mauve:

In UAE, you will see Huda Beauty everywhere. The Huda Beauty aisle at Sephora stores is almost always crowded. When the Huda Beauty Faux Filter Foundation was launched, I couldn’t even manage to get through the huge crowd while people were so busy matching their perfect shade.

The Huda Beauty Obsessions Mauve Palette set contains 9 eyeshadows which are 1.1 grams each. The dimensions of the palette are 20 x 71 x 84 mm. Though the palette appears to be a mini one, it’s a full sized palette and includes a mirror on one side. There is no eyeshadow brush included.

I like its mini squarish packaging which is essentially cardboard – quite similar to the eyeshadow palettes from “The Balm” but smaller in size compared to them. The advantage of this kind of packaging is that they don’t crack and break if they accidentally fall from your hand. Many of my palettes have died that death. Nevertheless, it feels sturdy and compact which is ideal for travel. The packaging is black with the colours of the shadow and other details printed over the box.

The Huda Beauty Mauve Obsessions palette contains six matte shades and three shimmer shades. The colour theme appears to be Winter/ Fall sorts. The shades are dusty rose and plummy hues from light to dark.

Here is the description of each shade to be specific;
Mauve Palette Shade 1: matte – burgundy with warm red undertones
Mauve Palette Shade 2: foil /shimmer – coral pink shade
Mauve Palette Shade 3: foil /shimmer – metallic frosty peach shade
Mauve Palette Shade 4: foil /shimmer – metallic rosy red shade
Mauve Palette Shade 5: matte – light taupe brown shade
Mauve Palette Shade 6: matte – brick / muted reddish shade
Mauve Palette Shade 7: matte – dark plum shade
Mauve Palette Shade 8: matte – light creamy beige
Mauve Palette Shade 9: matte – dark red

Every shade is beautiful and blends with the other. All shades are kind of from the same family hence you can use this one palette for a complete eye makeup look. I wish it had a black shadow as well for the outer edge.

All of the shades are very pigmented as you can see in the swatches. The matte shades are extremely smooth and blendable. The darker shades, shade no 7 and 9, need a little more blending.

The shimmer/ foil shades seem beautiful and extremely pigmented when swatched. However, when used with a flat brush on the lid, it does not show well on the lid. Hence I use the fingertip to apply this to the centre of the lid and then it shows well.

The shadows do not feel chalky and I also did not notice any major fall out while blending. I would suggest using a concealer/ eye primer before applying these shades so as to see the true colour of the shadows.

For this price, this eyeshadow quad is a good deal and the purple icon variant is a pretty shade to have. These shades are universal and will suit Asian skin tones – fair as well as deep skin tones.

You can use the lighter matte shade for the day but these shades will look beautiful for an evening/ party makeup look. You can create multiple eye makeup looks with this palette. I tried a few here. These are really condensed eyeshadow palettes but you get so much product. The Mauve Obsessions Palette is a beautiful selection and shades and I totally recommend this!
