Hey lovely ladies,
After sharing varied reviews for the Bite Beauty Multisticks in “Almond” and “Papaya,” I have a third shade up for review today, and this is called “Cashew.” So, without further ado, let us find out more about this shade.
Product Description:
A multi-stick that applies like a cream and wears like a powder for weightless color application—just apply with your finger or a brush on the eyes, lips, and cheeks. With 35 percent powder in each Multistick bullet, this silicone-free formula creates a soft focus finish that’s blendable, breathable, and buildable. It features universal shades for the eyes, lips, and cheeks that compliment all skintones and are formulated to use anywhere on the face. It is formulated without parabens, sulfates, or phthalates.
Suggested Usage:
Apply Multistick to eyes and cheeks with fingers like a cream shadow or blush, or on lips like a regular lipstick.
Price:
$24
My Experience with Bite Beauty Multistick Cashew:
Packaging: The Multistick comes packaged in a typical Bite Beauty black lipstick packaging. It looks like the rubberised packaging NARS has, but thankfully, it isn’t. The multistick is packaged like a lipstick bullet with a twist-up mechanism. The only difference is that this does not have a slant lip indentation like lipsticks usually have. The product cap seems to click securely in place. It comes packaged in a beige cardboard box.
Color: Cashew, is described as a “rose taupe” shade. It is a medium, rose taupe shade with warm undertones. It swatches really pretty, like an effortless dusty shade. However, how it appears on the face is different.
As a blush – When you first apply the blush to your cheeks, it’s clearly visible and feels like a dusty, easy-to-work-with shade. However, as I start blending it, the shade pretty much disappears on my skin. I had to apply 3 layers before I felt that it showed up as a decent intensity blush. Refer to pics for how it looks post 3 layers. It would probably work better on fair to light skin tones. The shade itself is easy to wear and earthy, it reminds me of MAC Blushbaby.
As a lipstick, it looks like a light, slightly rosey n*de shade on my skin tone. I feel I am able to pull the color off, but on someone with deeper skin, this might not be the shade of choice.
As an eyeshadow – It is an easy-to-wear shade but blends into nothingness, and I cannot be bothered to build my cream shadow over layers.
Texture: This one is definitely more emollient than the shade “Papaya” and that may have something to do with its performance as a blush. The more emollient texture allows for easier blending. However, the more I blend, the more the colour seems to disappear into my skin. The strange part is that when applying the same product on my lips, I do not feel the product to be as emollient, rather it feels stiffer and accentuates the lines of my lips – not too flattering. It does not feather or bleed.
As an eyeshadow, it’s a miss. It does not dry down completely and is an absolute disaster on my oily lids. It really cannot be used on the lids, unless you use an eye primer. And this to me seems stupid because when you have amazing cream shadows which can act as eye primer – why would one reach for this and use a separate eye primer before this. I feel the product would have fared better had the brand stated it as a lip and cheek product rather than “a lip, cheek and eye product.”
Pigmentation: Excellent pigmentation, goes opaque in a single swipe. The pigmentation is clearly visible when being used as a lipstick; however, the blended shade is probably too close to my skin colour – those seeming to blend into nothing.
Lasting Power: Lasting power depends on how you use it. As a blush – it gives me 6-7 hours wear, which may not be stellar; however, considering my oily skin, it’s excellent. As a lipstick, I get about 4-4.5 hours wear time.. As an eyeshadow, the wear time reduces drastically because of my oily lids.
To sum this up for you:
Pros of Bite Beauty Multistick Cashew:
- An interesting rose taupe shade.
- Good pigmentation.
- Easy to apply from the tube.
- No feathering or bleeding.
- Hides lip pigmentation well.
- Decent wear time on lips and cheeks. The brand hasn’t really made any tall claims about this aspect.
- Edible ingredients.
- No parabens, sulfates, or phthalates.
- Distinctive, light packaging.
- Cruelty free.
Cons of Bite Beauty Multistick Cashew:
- Absolute miss as an eyeshadow.
- As a multi-stick, would work better for fair to medium skin tones.
- This shade looked dry on the lips.
IMBB Rating:
3/5
Overall Thoughts: Super disappointed that this wasn’t as easy and effortless as the shade “Almond.” Having said that, I feel, the challenge could be more with the shade itself – meaning the fact that it is a light tot medium shade than the texture of the shade. It is difficult to make a multi-use product – a good cheek product has different texture requirement to a good lip product to a good eye product. Perfect case of jack of all trades and master of none.
