ColourPop Super Shock Shadows and Highlighters can be counted as two of my all-time favourite cream formulas. Previously, I had reviewed ColourPop Super Shock Highlighter Glazed, and in this post, I will be reviewing ColourPop Super Shock Highlighter in the shade Butterfly Beach. So, let’s see how this shade fared.

Packaging:
The ColourPop Super Shock Highlighter packaging is a pretty standard white round compact with holographic writing on the top saying – ColourPop which fades away in time. The packaging is similar to their Super Shock Shadows packaging. The bottom of the compact specifies the name “Butterfly Beach.” The product comes in a white cardboard box with the name of the product and the ingredients list. Overall, the packaging is lightweight and travel friendly.
Shade:
The color is described as warm beige with a silvery sheen. In actual the color is darker comapred to the pictures on the website.Once you apply it on cheeks and blend it out, it gives a slight flush of brownish glow to the cheeks.
Texture:
The texture is smooth and creamy, blends effortlessly on the skin. People with dry skin will love it for sure, as this does not cling to dry patches of the skin. The texture is so lightweight and non-sticky. It does not give any greasiness to the skin. I have combination to oily skin and it does not make my skin oily at all.
My Experience with ColourPop Super Shock Highlighter Butterfly Beach:
Let’s begin with the packaging of the product. The packaging is cute and perfect to carry around. All ColourPop Super Shock products are best applied with fingers. I have fair skin with yellow undertones.
I was disappointed to find that this highlighter is so much darker than it looks in the picture. It gives bronze-golden glow, perfect for medium to dark skin tones. For fair tones, it gives bronze glow, without looking shimmery or gaudy.
I won’t say that the color looks very appealing on fair skin tones. It’s gorgeous, just not my shade! So, I use it both as an eyeshadow. As a highlighter, it lasts for about 4 hours on me, which is fairly good. I’m in love with the formula, so smooth and buttery! The formula will compel me to try other shades as well.
Pros of ColourPop Super Shock Highlighter Butterfly Beach:
Travel- friendly packaging
Very pigmented
Buildable
Gives natural glow
Creamy soft texture
Suits all skin types
Cons of ColourPop Super Shock Highlighter Butterfly Beach:
Doesn’t last all day, requires touch-up
Doesn’t suit fair skin types
IMBB Rating: 4.4/5
