My Experience with Becca First Light Priming Filter Instant Complexion Refresh:
This product comes packaged in a beautiful glass bottle just like Becca’s Iconic Backlight Priming Filter. Since I purchased travel size, I received the product in a purple tube. This is a sheer purple lotion with a luminous sheen and a pearly finish. This works similar to the Becca backlight filter. This is also a primer that can be used underneath foundations or mixed with foundations and also, it can be used on bare skin to give a dewy glowing skin. The lavender tone in the primer helps to reduce skin textures and redness and adds a dewy glow to the face by blurring imperfections. The texture of this product is runny compared to the Backlight primer, which is a bit thicker.
I’ve been using this under various liquid foundations, and it has worked well with light, medium, and full coverage foundations on my combination skin. It adds a nice luminosity to any foundation. It can be applied on bare skin for an all-over dewy finish or used under your base, as I told you before. It extends the wear of my makeup reasonably, not a longwearing primer, but it gives the skin a soft glow while diffusing the skin’s natural texture. I also noticed that it helped my foundation to spread more smoothly across my face during application.
On my tanned skin tone, when I wear it alone over bare skin, it does add a subtle glow and brightens my overall complexion. I am pretty sure that this will work with all complexions. Now, even though it’s classified as a general purpose primer, it doesn’t exist solely to extend the wear time of your foundation, concealer and complexion makeup. It specializes in blurring pores, illuminating, moisturizing and also in prepping and priming your skin, so that anything you layer on top of it goes on smoother.
I also have the Becca Backlight primer, which offers a beautiful bright glow to the skin. When comparing both of these, I would say that First Light primer gives a more subdued glow than the former. So, if you are after a mild glow, then you can go for this one. Overall I love this one and I use it as a illuminating, pore-blurring lotion to prime my face before I apply my foundation, or use just this on my bare skin to give a healthy glow. This is a beautiful product everyone must give it a go.
