Hi IMBBians,
Let us fight the seven signs of ageing; Dark spots, Pigmentation, Open pores, Wrinkles, Dry and Patchy skin, Sagging skin, Dull skin. This is the mantra in almost every TV advertisement for beauty creams being played today. With an increase in the number of products with tall skin-maintenance claims flooding the Asian market, the demarcation between beauty creams, those for hydration, and anti-ageing has blurred to the extent that every cream for every age promises all-in-one effect!
Skin creams in today’s world by default are considered akin to miracle products for it is generally presumed to bear lightening properties; this blanket ideology can be attributed to the increasing number of fairness cream ads. Use of agents like olive oil, sesame oil, honey, egg yolk, etc. as moisturizers have been recorded from the Mesolithic era and also use of milk and honey were rampant for anti-ageing. With research, the inclusion of vegetable ingredients and agents like retinol, vitamins, minerals, alpha- and beta-hydroxy acids, have become popular to reduce wrinkles, lighten the skin tone as well as improve texture.
In this product review blog, I would be discussing my experience with the Babor-SkinovagePX – Daily calming cream. Babor is a German luxury skincare enterprise founded by the biochemist Michael Babor in the year 1956. The brand claims all ingredients of Babor to be extracted from organically grown sources. The daily calming cream of Babor has been noted to be an excellent choice for sensitive skin as it bears claims of calming and protecting the same. “Calming” can be noted to be the key promise of the cream, wherein it aids in soothing redness as well as ease tightness throughout the say. This 24 hour cream promises to even out skin tone and fights visual signs of premature aging.

My Experience with Babor Skinovage PX – Calming Sensitive Daily Calming Cream:
In terms of the actual product, the cream comes packaged in a luxurious looking frosted glass tub with a dull-gold lid. The brand name embossed on the golden lid truly adds to the visual appeal of the product. The cream as such does not bear any strong smell, but a mild chemical fragrance. This should not pose any problem to users with a sensitive nose, as the smell is indeed very faint to notice unless focused upon.
The consistency of the cream is very thick and stark white in color. A little goes a long way in case of this cream, and because it is thick, it takes time to get absorbed into the skin. In my dry skin case, the cream does take a few minutes for absorption and leaves behind a slight shine as well. However, there is no stickiness felt post application.
This cream is a very good moisturizer, true to its claim, and its effect lasts till washed away and doesn’t require intermittent reapplications. The product can also be used as a good night cream, however, I have used it only in day time and found it to be effective. I have not developed any ageing concerns yet, but the cream has definitely improved the texture of my skin. If I have to list down the effects – Hydration, Smoothing and Calming would be the three I experienced.
Priced at 76 USD for 50mL of product, it does appear pricey, but the post-use benefits recorded does make it worth a try.
Pros of Babor Skinovage PX – Calming Sensitive Daily Calming Cream:
- Smoothens skin texture for dry skin.

Cons of Babor Skinovage PX – Calming Sensitive Daily Calming Cream:
- Priced at higher end.
- Packaging is not travel-friendly.
- Some cases of rash post-use has been recorded. I haven’t experienced still, this calls for patch test before use.
IMBB Rating: 3.5/5
