Wet n Wild is one of my favourite drugstore brands. I recently purchased a few of their gel nail polishes. Today, I will be reviewing the shade Taupe as a Joke, Periwinkle of an eye and Lilac a Virgin. So, let’s see how these shades fared for me.

My Experience with Wet n Wild 1 Step Wonder Gel Nail Color – Taupe as a Joke, Periwinkle of an Eye, Lilac a Virgin:

Wet n Wild gel nail polishes come in a dark black glass bottle. I think they have kept the black packaging for the nail polish since it’s a gel polish and they need to be kept away from harsh sunlight. There are labels on the bottle which match the shade of the actual nail polish. The labels are correct interpretation of the nail colour. The bottle is sturdy and won’t break easily. The brush is wide and covers my nails within two coats. The brush gives easy application.

The consistency of this nail polish is on thicker and creamier side. They spred easily and smoothly on the nails. These nail paints are extremely pigmented and go opaque in a single swipe; two coats provide full coverage.

This nail polish is supposed to impart a high-shine gel finish without a top coat or UV light. They provide glossy, creamy finish to the nails without any top or base coat. The glossiness of the nail polish wears away within day 4 and the nail polish starts to chip after day 5. The staying power is not close to a gel manicure. The staying power of the nail polish is very good compared to most nail polishes in the similar range. The nail polish dries easily and you can apply multiple coats within minutes. The nail polish is also easy to remove with a nail polish remover.

• Taupe as a Joke: “Taupe as a Joke” is one of the bestseller shades from this range and has bagged the “Allure Beauty Award” too. The shade is a greyish taupe shade. This shade is perfect for everyday and is also a great fall shade.

• Periwinkle of an eye: This shade is a stunning periwinkle blue shade as the name specifies. This shade is a great summer shade. It’s a fun vibrant shade.

• Lilac a virgin: This shade is a beautiful light lilac lavender shade. This shade is also great for summer.
