Reviewing Giorgio Armani Power Fabric Foundation in this post 🙂
Product Claims:
Power Fabric is a new liquid foundation that teams full coverage with a matte, lightweight second skin finish. Power Fabric is a concentration of oils with no greasy effect, which delivers a velvet matte finish. To achieve perfect full coverage foundation, powerful pigments were selected and then shaped to obtain extremely fine pigment particles with a quality of color beyond reproach. Power Fabric combines full coverage with an ultra-light formula. Upon application, the texture melts into the skin, effectively blurring imperfections with an incredibly lightweight matte veil that feels like you’re not wearing make-up at all. With a SPF 25 filter, power fabric offers effective daily UVA and UVB protection up to the promise of broad-spectrum SPF protection. Because every woman is unique, power fabric foundation comes in 20 shades to suit all skin tones. The formula is adapted for each shade to deliver optimal coverage without cracking or dulling.
Price:
US $64/INR 4100 approximately. Available in 20 shades
I use the shade 6.5 medium, tan, neutral.
I absolutely love Giorgio Armani foundations! My most favourite has been “Luminous Silk” foundation. I picked up Power Fabric from Paris recently, in the shade 6.5. It’s a dead on match to my skin tone. I’d say that it is slightly on the pink side but I can always tweak it a bit. For a foundation this “full” coverage, it’s important that you pick up the closest match to your skin tone. Otherwise, it would look like a different foundation altogether.
* It’s a medium to full coverage foundation.
* The foundation has a matte finish.
* The texture is light and does not feel heavy on the skin.
* It goes on smoothly but you have to work quickly with it because it sets quickly.
* Does not have any bothersome fragrance.
* Contains SPF 25
I personally could never really settle for this foundation. My biggest concern with this foundation ..every single time was that it was not photographing well. I tried so many times and I was always left with a lukewarm liking for this foundation. And for me, a foundation of this capacity has to photograph well.
It always looked a bit cakey on my skin…almost like sitting on top of my skin. Also, it does accentuate the fine lines of my skin after a few hours. Sometimes, it also gets patchy.. which means I really tried to make this foundation work for me by using different primer, no primer, different techniques, mixing with other foundations.. it just did not make me fall in love with it. It always makes my skin look a bit lifeless and kind of “dry-ish.” On the contrary, every time I use the Luminous Silk, I was like wow! that’s how a makeup foundation should be. Thankfully, Power Fabric never broke me out. It stayed on pretty good for the 8-hour wear, but it did accentuate fine lines on my face, especially around the mouth. 😐
