I am so excited to introduce this brand on IMBB. This is my first buy from this brand and most of the products I’ve tested at its store looked amazing after application. I got my makeup done by its artist in Dubai and made a decision of buying this lip mousse afterwards. This brand is now available in India and I am happy to see how various e-commerce sites are coming up with more and more international brands in India. Let’s get to know how this lip mousse fared on me

My Experience With Absolute New York Lip Mousse Smitten:

A makeup artist at the Absolute New York store in Dubai suggested me to buy a lip mousse and I went crazy looking at all the beautiful colours this range has to offer. I wanted to grab them all. But since I wasn’t familiar with the product I picked up the shade Smitten after trying it on my lips.

Shade:

There are about 18 different shades to choose from this range. I chose the shade “Smitten” as this looked absolutely gorgeous after application. I have fair skin tone and this kind of shade suits me well. This would look great on medium tan and fair skin tones. People with dark skin tones can skip this one. This shade looks vibrant and adds to the whole makeup look. It’s a pretty bright orange shade with pink undertones and has a tint of red in it.

Texture and Pigmentation:

This lip mouse reminds me of Nyx soft mattes and in terms of texture, it is smooth. Despite being a full coverage matte lip mousse it glides so easily on lips. This is highly pigmented and the colour payoff is quite good. But I would have to swipe the colour multiple times in order to achieve the actual desirable colour. For this, you would have to use a good amount of mousse on lips. Using very little mousse would not give you the actual results. The consistency of the mousse is buttery and I had no issues while applying the lip colour.

How it functions:

Like it claims it does offer full coverage to lips and makes them appear fuller. It delivers a perfect matte finish that I absolutely love.You would have to be a little care full while applying this mousse. As it’s a bright shade and since it is highly pigmented a little mousse that moves outside the lip line would spoil the look and make it look shabby. A lot of product is required to complete the look.It does makes the lips dry and tend to flake slightly after application. This is not suitable for people who have dry lips, as it doesn’t hydrate the lips at all.

Staying Power:

The staying power is great! It doesn’t come off until I remove this colour with my makeup remover. I wore this lipstick for more than ten hours and it lasted well on my lips. It leaves a beautiful stain behind and that stain lasted until next day.However, it does fade a little after having a meal but it still holds a lot of colour after finishing the meal.

Packaging:

I quite liked its packaging. The product is very convenient to use. It comes in a colour-coded plastic packaging. The wand/applicator is functional as well. It picks up the product well and helps in an easy application on the lips. You’ll be able to read its ingredients and the other necessary information on the outer cardboard box.

•Makes the lips dry.
•Multiple coats needed to make the colour more intense.

Do I Recommend Buying Absolute New York Lip Mousse Smitten?

Yes! If you are more of a matte liquid lip colour person like me you’ll definitely love this one. This one delivers complete matte finish and looks gorgeous after application.
