Today’s review will be on a waterproof eye pencil from Maybelline. There are many shades in this range – I had earlier reviewed “Smooth Charcoal,”   and now reviewing “Sleek Onyx” in this post.

My Experience with Maybelline Eyestudio Lasting Drama Waterproof Gel Pencil Sleek Onyx:

This pencil comes in a cardboard packaging. I expected the pencil to be a bit longer than what it is, anyway, the packaging is color coded with a sturdy cap on it. The packaging is very basic, nothing too fancy. It is very sleek and can be easily tossed in your makeup bag. The cap fits snugly and hence can be used for travels as it won’t come off. It doesn’t come with a sharpener though!

“Sleek Onyx” is a pitch black shade. It is highly pigmented and one stroke gives almost 100% of the pigmentation. I was super impressed by the swatch of this pencil. The pigmentation is mind blowing! The texture is another aspect of the product that will stun you! It has the creamiest finish ever!

This glides on like butter, like a dream, whatever you may prefer! It is just the smoothest eye pencil I’ve tried. Since it is super creamy and so smooth, it is in a form of a wooden, traditional pencil form and not a rotating mechanical pencil form. But I can overlook that con blindly.

If these two factors didn’t amaze you yet, the staying power definitely will! It lasts the entire day! I’ve put this pencil to test and the day I chose to wear it was epic! 29th August was the day that all the rain gods decided to bless our Mumbai city wholeheartedly! That was the day I used it! I applied this kajal in the morning around 9 am, before going to gym. It lasted the entire time without smudging.

It lasted a face wash, throughout office hours plus till I reached home, heavily drenched in rain! I checked in the mirror at about 10.45 pm and it had faded just a bit, but other than that, the liner was still there, without smudging one bit. That’s when I took it off with a cleanser!
