Hello IMBBians,
I love my Catrice Cushion eyeliner but recently, I wanted something that I could carry in my purse for quick fixes on the way and I picked up an eye liner pen from Kiko. Today’s review is all about Kiko Signature Eye Marker. Read on to know more!
Price and Quantity: $9 for 1.6ml
Product Description:
Long-lasting eyeliner pen with a spatula tip. The texture dries quickly and clings perfectly to the eyelids, without fading or crumbling.
The spatula tip traces the outer eye area, leaving a precise stroke that can be adjusted to achieve the desired thickness. Application is simple and calibrated for all kinds of lines, from thin to thick. The color draws on easily and stays put for a long time.
Ophthalmologically tested.
Paraben Free.
External use only.
Results: A touch of deep black highlights the shape and color of the eyes. Accentuates the eyes with class and elegance.
Ingredients:
AQUA (WATER/EAU), BUTYLENE GLYCOL, GLYCERIN, SODIUM LIGNOSULFONATE, ACRYLATES/ETHYLHEXYL ACRYLATE COPOLYMER, SODIUM LAURETH-11 CARBOXYLATE, PHENOXYETHANOL, LAURETH-10, ALCOHOL, POLYSORBATE 80, POTASSIUM SORBATE, SODIUM DEHYDROACETATE, SODIUM CHLORIDE, LAURETH-21, CI 77266 (NANO)(BLACK 2).
My Experience with Kiko Signature Eye Marker:
The eye marker comes in a white and pastel green cardboard package. The outer package is pretty simple and has information of the product it houses. The eye marker is white in color and has a white click cap with silver writings. The eye marker is similar to a sketch pen. It reminds me of my school days! The pencil is sleek and is great! The cap closes with a click and there is no chance that it can cause a mess in your bag.
The marker has a black felt tip. The shape of the marker is pretty different than the traditional felt-tip liners currently available; I guess that is the reason they have named Signature. It is spatula shaped and can be used to create thick or thin lines. I am a little turned off by the smell of the product. It smells like markers available and I don’t like the strong stench. I wish Kiko had added some fragrance to it.
The color is pitch black and has a liquid-like consistency. However, it dries within seconds and makes the product smudge-proof within seconds. The way it glides is very similar to sketch pens. The application is very easy and you can create various lines and images with it. I guess it is the most easily available art pen. The color can be built up a bit.
The product is not waterproof, which is a bummer! For the price it retails at, I thought it was waterproof only to have black water dripping from my face when I was stuck in rain! The product doesn’t crumble or tugs the skin. It glides so easily and perfectly and application is very easy. The product, however, doesn’t last near the corner of my eyes and it starts fading away quickly from there. The product doesn’t work well on oily lids either and thus, a good primer or a foundation base has to be used to keep the lines intact.
The product stays for around 6 hours, which is good. Since the color does not stick onto the cap, if there is any residue in the cap, it creates a mess, as you can see in the picture! So, you need to make sure that if it touches the sides of the cap, you clean it before closing. I love this liner to create wings. You can easily create the wings using the spatula and built it up! I just use the vertical spatula to mark the points and then elongate or draw the line from the end point. It can easily be used to create inverted winged liner too. The eye marker awakens the artist in you! I love to use this on the days I want to be a bit creative and when the sun is shining!
