Hello IMBBians,
A good cleansing gel is necessary whether you use makeup or not. For people like us who use makeup on a frequent basis, cleansing gels are a must-have to cleanse the skin thoroughly and keep skin issues at bay. I bought a few ‘Botanical’ products from Garnier, and today’s review is all about Garnier Skin Active Purifying Botanical Gel Wash with Green Tea Leaves. Read on to know more.
Price and Quantity: $8.25 for 200 ml
Product Description:
A gel daily face wash made with 96% ingredients of natural origin, enriched with Green Tea extract, known for its purifying powers. It efficiently removes excess sebum, impurities and pollution for perfectly clean and purified looking skin.
How to Use:
Apply once a day to wet skin and massage your face gently. Rinse off.
Ingredients:
Aqua / Water, Coco-Glucoside, Sodium Lauryl Sulfate, Glycerin, Sodium Chloride, Camellia Sinensis Leaf Extract, Sodium Hydroxide, Citric Acid, Maltodextrin, Pentylene Glycol, Salicylic Acid, Linalool, Limonene, Benzyl Alcohol, Benzyl Salicylate, Parfum / Fragrance
My Experience with Garnier Skin Active Botanical Gel Wash with Green Tea Leaves:
The gel wash comes in a green transparent plastic bottle with a white pump. The product is not sealed. Through the transparent bottle, you can clearly see the quantity of the gel wash present. There is basic information on the back. The shelf life of the product is 12 months. There is a lock mechanism on the pump. If you turn the pump onto the left, the pump is locked and you cannot press it. This makes it a perfect travel companion as there might not be any accidental leakage.
The gel wash is clear and transparent. It has a gel-like consistency but is very runny in texture. You can clearly see from the swatch. It flows real soon! The smell is very pleasant and mild. The fragrance is not overpowering. The gel lathers pretty well, and with a little water, you can clearly get the dirt off from your face.
Once washed off, the skin feels very smooth and soft. It does make the skin a little dry and a moisturizer is a must. The wash gently removes all the oil and dirt. It does remove makeup but it is not very effective. I have to use the gel twice if used alone; when I use a cleansing milk or a wipe to remove the makeup beforehand, the gel cleanses pretty good.
The product is not so great with waterproof makeup. I need an eye makeup remover for my mascara. The product doesn’t cause any breakouts. The product also controls oil, which is a plus. My face feels very fresh and cleansed. The product doesn’t work on any existing pimples or evens out the skin tone. It adds radiance to the skin after a wash. My face looks brightened up and I love the glow.
The product doesn’t cause any irritation or redness to the face, which makes the product suitable for sensitive skin too. The product contains 96% natural ingredients and doesn’t have any paraben, silicones or synthetic colors. However, it does contain SLS, which is a bummer. The product is great for daily use when you need a cleansed face. The product is very lightweight and is perfect for daily cleansing!
