Skin Tone: Light to Medium with warm undertones
Skin Type: Combination
Hi everyone,
If there is one ColourPop product that I could recommend to everyone, it’s hands down their “Ultra Satin Lips.” I am slowly but steadily increasing my ColourPop ultra satin lips shade range. Today, I will review the shade “Baracuda.” So, let’s see how this lipstick fared.
Price:
$6.00 USD for 0.11 oz.
Product Description:
High pigmentation and a satin-matte finish in liquid lipstick form to keep your lips soft and comfy all day long. Ohhhhhh, a warm deepened rose.
My Experience with ColourPop Ultra Satin Lip Baracuda:
The packaging is a standard clear tube with holographic writing on the side – ColourPop Ultra Satin. The bottom of the tube specifies the name “Baracuda.” The tube has a silver cap. The applicator is a standard doe-foot wand. The applicator allows me to fill in the corner of the lips easily. The product comes in a white cardboard box with the name of the product and the ingredients list. The packaging is very travel friendly.
“Baracuda” has been described as a warm deepened pink and it is indeed a very beautiful warm brownish-pink shade. This shade is very similar to Frick N Frack. Baracuda is tad bit pinker than Frick N Frack. This shade will suit all skin tones. When you first apply the lipstick, it will be satiny finish; however, it turns matte as time passes by. You can also blot it with paper if you need an instant matte lip look. The finish is creamy at first and turns into a long-lasting matte lipstick.
The texture of this liquid lipstick is a bit mousse-y and liquid-y. The main difference between ultra-matte and ultra-satin is that the ultra-satins do not dry completely matte. It dries velvety matte within a few minutes once applied on the lips, so if there are any errors while applying you can easily correct it. The doe-foot applicator is a bit fluffy which makes it a bit hard to fill in the corners of the lips with ease.
There is a chemical fragrance to the lipstick which personally doesn’t bother me. Another major difference between the ultra-matte and ultra-satin is that the latter does not give kiss-proof, budge-proof finish. It does transfer a lot. However, it’s very long lasting. It is advisable to exfoliate your lips for the flawless finish. The ultra-satin doesn’t dry your lips and give a smooth finish. They are the most comfortable liquid lipstick.
The lipstick is super pigmented and super opaque. It gives a full coverage even if the lips are pigmented.
The staying power is really good with this lipstick. It stays on for around 7 hours without the need to reapply; however, it will start to fade if you eat oily meals.
Overall, I am really happy with the color payoff, texture, and longevity of the lipstick. It can be easily removed with an oil-based makeup remover. Overall, I am really impressed with the longevity and feel of the lipstick Baracuda.
