Hello IMBBians,
I will be going on a short vacation very soon. One of the issues I usually experience is chipping of my nails and due to strict airport regulations, I usually don’t carry my nail file. I was looking for blunt ones and I came across a nail file from Yves Rocher and ordered it online. Today’s review is all about Yves Rocher Four-way Nail Polishing Block.
Price: $3.50
Product Description:
New essential manicure tool!
The Four-way Nail Polishing Block is the essential tool for a very easy manicure with a perfect finish! 4 steps for a complete manicure thanks to a four-way nail block with different finishes on each side: file, buff, smooth and shine your nails.
Bonus: Each side is numbered for an easy step by step use.
My Experience with Yves Rocher Four-way Nail Polishing Block:
The product comes in a plastic resealable packet. This looks like cheap plastic and has a tag sticker on the seal to make sure it is not opened. When I opened the pouch, the block was in another plastic paper. The block is very light weight. There are four sides to the block and the numbers are mentioned on the back, so it is easy to follow up. The block is actually a rectangular dense foam which has 4 thick cardboard like pieces cut and attached on all the sides. To be honest, I do not like this. For the price I pay, I do not expect this quality. The block has a length of 9cm and is pretty convenient to carry.
As mentioned previously, there are 4 sides to this block.
1. File: The file part is deep purple in color and has the logo and name of it. It is almost like sand paper and is very rough but not harsh. It files the nails effectively without any issues. The texture is lesser than a normal file you would buy from the market. While using, it creates lines and makes the file part look ugly with the residue from the line. You can clearly see it on the file.
2. Buff: The buff part is violet in colour. It feels almost smooth and doesn’t have any ridges. It can be used to buff on top of the nails. It removes all thin nail layers remaining due to filing. It evens the nail surface and removes any discolorations present on the nail.
3. Polish: The polish part is lavender pink in color. It smoothens the surface of the nails. It doesn’t impart any shine. It is just an additional step to even out the surface after the buff.
4. Shine: The shine part is white in color, the color gets dirty very soon! The shine, like the name suggests, is the final step to the nail care and it adds brilliant shine. I was amazed at the shine it creates. It makes the nails look very healthy and when topped with a top coat, the shine is beautiful. I, at times, only use this step when I like to go bare nails.
This block does add a difference to your nail care. I love how convenient it is and the nails stay shinier at least for 2-3 days without any issue. The only issue I have is that it is not durable. I am not sure how long this would last for me. I usually keep this with my other products in a drawer and noticed that it got dirtier and due to the spongy texture, it does bend at the edges if not well maintained. I would just use it for my travel purposes and for everything else, I still have my awesome Scholl Velvet Smooth Electronic Nail Care System. So, summing up:
Pros of Yves Rocher Four-way Nail Polishing Block:
- Easy to use
- Light weight, travel-friendly
- Shapes the nails effectively
- Numbered and is easy to follow
- Prevents discolorations due to nail polish
- Evens the nail surface and clears any ridges

Cons of Yves Rocher Four-way Nail Polishing Block:

- Costly for the quality
IMBB Rating:
