My Experience with Marc Jacobs Beauty Le Marc Liquid Lip Creme Slow Burn:
The packaging of the lipstick is simple and classy. The lipstick tube comes housed in the signature black and white colored cardboard box. The box bears the entire product-related information on it. The lipstick comes in a long cylindrical glossy black-colored plastic tube. The brand’s tagline is embossed on the tube in simple silver fonts. There is a small sticker at the base of the tube, which has the shade name written on it.
There is a small transparent circle at the bottom of the tube through which one can check the shade. The tube closes with a black-colored screw on cap that fits pretty securely making it leak proof and travel friendly. There is a typical doe-foot applicator attached with the cap. The applicator wand is neither too long nor too short and gives proper control while applying the lipstick. Overall, the packaging is basic and useful; I did not find any flaw about the packaging.
Though I was a matte lipstick lover but recently my love for lipstick has made me lean towards crème finish as well. So, I decided to try one from this range. There are six shades available in this range out of which only 4 shades namely Shush Blush, Hot Cocoa, Slow Burn and Truth or Bare are suitable for Indian skin tones. The other two will probably wash out Indian skin tones.
I have got the shade “Slow Burn” which is described as a creamy n*de rose shade. It is a kind of mauvish n*de shade which goes well with my skin tone. This color is flattering for fair to medium skin tones. It may wash out deeper complexions. The lipstick is absolutely free from any shimmer and it sets to a gorgeous creme finish. It is not too glossy. It gives a fuller appearance to lips and makes them look healthy.
This is a nice MLBB shade for many skin tones. It is very subtle and can be worn at any time of the day. I prefer using more neutral shades to my college since too much bold and bright colors are not much appreciated here in the medical school, so this one has become my absolute favorite everyday lip color. Just this lipstick on the lips with soft smokey eyes makes me “party ready” in no time. The formula is amazingly pigmented, which gives perfect opaque coverage in just two swipes. The color payoff is just amazing and it hides the pigmentation of my lips nicely. The lipstick smells like fresh vanilla cup cakes. The smell is not too overpowering and is pleasant to sniff.
The texture of the lipstick is “dreamy.” It is super soft, smooth and creamy. It glides on the lips like a dream. It feels comfortable on the lips but it is not too lightweight or something. It properly makes my feel that I have something on my lips. The formula is extremely moisturizing and hydrating that I do not need any lip balm even after hours of application. My lips never feel dry with this lipstick. The formula is amazing for those with dry lips. The lipstick does not smear or feather even upon layering. It never settles into the fine lines of my lips. I really cannot find any cons of this lipstick. The only con is its transferring formula. Being creamy in nature, the lipstick crazily transfers. It does not cling to the dry patches of the lips.
The longevity of the lipstick is somewhere around 6-7 hours on my lips with constant sipping of water and little snacking. It can survive meals as well with slight fading. The color looks even on the lips and never gets patchy. This is very easy to remove with a makeup remover wipe and does not stain the lips. So, what more do we expect from a lipstick. It does its job well and I quite loved this one.
