So, Estee Lauder took to social media and created much hype for their upcoming (now released) lipstick collection – “Pure Colour Love.” The collection is an assortment of 30 shades ranging from matte to sheer to glossy. I too went with the hype and purchased the shade “Strapless” from this range. Although I wanted to pick the shade “Wild Poppy,” but unfortunately, it was out of stock, so I picked Strapless instead. My Experience with Estee Lauder Pure Color Love Lipstick 130 Strapless:

This collection is Estee Lauder’s foot towards upper middle segment. They are changing their game by being luxurious yet reachable to masses. In order to keep up their brand image, they kind of cost cut on their packaging, but in a way that it looks better than previous “Navy Blue” ones. So these lipsticks comes in a “Navy Blue” cardboard box like other collections. Inside, the bullet comes housed in a transparent, sturdy plastic cap which bears actual shade colour and name on top. At the bottom, you can see golden bullet peeping, pull down and you get beautiful lipstick with a very distinctive cut. Brand name is embossed on both cap and bullet tube. Overall, luxurious-looking packaging, it seem they put thought into it. It is easy to travel with.

I went to buy shade “Wild Poppy,” but it was not in stock, so I picked this beautiful cool-toned mauve shade “Strapless”. When I tried it on, I decided to purchase it instantly. This is a perfect go-to shade, so subtle yet so trendy.

“Strapless” falls in the “creamy” category in the collection. Texture wise, it glides on like a dream and gives moderate pigmentation. I was not very keen on buying matte shade because every other brand is selling matte lipsticks and I wanted something evergreen, so “Strapless” fits in. As it is a creamy shade, wearability is not like matte shades and stays for 4-5 hours. Later on, it fades if you eat or drink too much.

Everything aside, I wish to talk about its shape now. No doubt EL put thought and came up with an unusual lipstick cut, but I feel it is a little uncomfortable to work with. I still like my old classic one side cut, it makes my application much more easier. With this kind of a cut, it is a little difficult to work with. Maybe it will be easier when I get a hang of it, but for now, I am not impressed with the shape of the bullet.
