Hi ladies,
I am on ColourPop eyeshadow series right now. I have already reviewed two of them – “Cheap Date” and “Valley Girl.” The other three shades that I received were broken in transit and I had no other option but to keep them. I tried to fix them by pressing the powder and luckily I am in a good state to use them ☺. Here is ‘Prickly Pear’ for you.
Product Description:
Super Shock Shadow Our famous long-wearing crème powder formula with a unique bouncy-like texture. It’s super creamy, insanely pigmented, and has one swipe intensity with zero fallout. For Max Coverage – Use your fingertip and tap shadow directly onto the eyelid. A flat, firm synthetic brush will also work and is perfect for detailed application close to the lash line.
To Blend – Use a fluffy synthetic brush with good movement, dip the tip into the shadow and apply with a “windshield wiper” movement throughout the crease of the eye for a soft and diffused look.
Finish: Ultra-Glitter.
Price:
$5 for 2.1 gm.
My Experience with ColourPop Super Shock Shadow Prickly Pear:
This is a single shadow and comes in cute white circular box. The lid is transparent so it is easy to spot the color. The cap closes and opens like a screw. The packaging is although cute but quite bulky. It is not travel friendly as we all need more shadows and less space, so I will not mind moving the pot to my Z palette in case I am travelling with these. Also, I found one thing, if you can spot in pictures, the pan is not firmly attached to the plastic box, there is extra space in between which makes it look clumsy. The actual shadow has textured surface which is typical Color Pop shadow look.
The texture of the shadow is “oh-my-gawd” so creamy and buttery. It is not at all powdery or rough. It glides smoothly on skin as well with no fall out whatsoever. The best part is that it sticks to the skin firmly but I will not say primer is not needed. I am an ardent believer in primers and I will always advice them to be used.
It stays good for 8 hours, definitely an all-nighter. It is of buildable nature and intensity can be controlled by the person applying it. Maximum intensity can be seen using finger tips for application. “Pricky Pear” belongs to the purple family and the website describes this shadow as a “lavender with gold and violet ultra-glitter.” This eye shadow is not very opaque though but not as sheer as Birthday Girl. The best part is that it has lavender tone which is not very common in eyeshadows because most shadows are golden or pink, but this one has violet glitter. It can be used day time or night time. It would look perfect with purple-based eye look as a mid-shade in between the two extremes.
Pros of ColourPop Super Shock Shadow Prickly Pear:
- Creamy.
- Violet undertones, which is not very common in eyeshadows.
- Texture is so soft, just like butter.
- Long lasting, even without a primer.
- No fall out.
- Affordable price.
Cons of ColourPop Super Shock Shadow Prickly Pear:
- Bulky packaging.
- Availability in India.
IMBB Rating:
4/5
Would I Recommend ColourPop Super Shock Shadow Prickly Pear?
It’s a beautiful shade, kind of unique to have in the stash, but not a must-have; however, I am glad to have picked this one because it is one of a kind
