All my life, I have used a razor for hair removal and I feel it’s the best (because there’s no pain) way to get rid of unwanted hair. However, I wanted to upgrade by using an epilator. What I had heard from my friends who used epilator was not nice but better than waxing stories. Hence, I brought myself a Braun Silk Epil 5-511 Wet and Dry Cordless Epilator. My Experience with Braun Silk Epil 5-511 Wet and Dry Epilator:

As I have mentioned, I haven’t used an epilator before this Braun one and this was the first time that my skin got in contact with an epilator. Ouch! That hurt was my first reaction. But gradually I got used to the sensation, it’s like ants biting you, really.

I do not have very fine hair. Initially, I wasn’t sure if it would really get rid of my hair. But to my surprise, it proved itself in the first stroke. But now I was curious to try it on thicker hair. So, I asked my sister to volunteer. And voila! It works. I was beyond impressed with this epilator.

How To Use: For best results, keep the epilator at a 90-degree angle and move it in the direction of your hair growth. Press the epilator gently on your skin to remove unwanted hair. Do not press the epilator deep into your skin to pull out hair.

Design: The epilator comes with a rubber grip, which gives you control over the epilator and it does slip off. The skin contact cap protects the skin from nicks and cuts. Plus, you won’t miss a spot. The epilator is cordless which gives you the flexibility to manoeuvre the device without being caught up in tangles of wires.

If you are using the epilator on dry skin, be sure to wash and clean your skin. This will make the epilation more effective.

However, if dry epilation is painful, you can also use this as wet epilation. Honestly, wet epilation worked better for me. I would recommend doing this once you have spent time in the shower the water and the heat open you pores which make epilation less painful.

I am still getting used to the product. I like the way it functions and is super easy to use. But for now, I am going back to the razor.
