Skin Type: Normal to Dry
I have been using Extra Illuminating Moisture Balm for months now. It’s one of the products I took a plunge for mainly because of my massive love for Bobbi Brown.
Product Description:
Ready to see healthy, glowing skin? This revolutionary skin-boosting moisture balm helps energize tired, dull skin to bring back its natural glow.
Price:
USD 65/INR 6200
My Experience with Bobbi Brown Extra Illuminating Moisture Balm:
This moisture balm comes packed in this lovely and simple pump bottle. It’s very easy to use. It reminds me a lot of strobe cream in a lot of ways except this Bobbi Brown balm is a bit more moisturizing. It’s an illuminating cream that can be used underneath foundation, mixed with foundation, just on high points of face or even underneath a powder highlighter to add that extra bit of highlight to the face.
It has a pale golden pearly finish to it that really gives a little boost to a dull and tired skin. Plus it is very moisturising especially for someone like me whose skin gets quite dry especially when I have full face of makeup on. It is a water-based primer that also includes a lot of essential oils and also coffee.
The texture is very light and blends into the skin without leaving any residue behind, just a normal healthy “lit-from-within” glow.
It does not leave any trace of product sitting on the skin, the product just sinks in. Does not accentuate the pores.
There are no specks of glitter or shimmer. It’s an illuminating cream and that’s what it does. Just illuminates the skin without really ‘showing’ the product on your skin. It smells herbal(-ly) but that settles down after a while. It is not overly shiny or shimmery.
It looks very natural on the skin and even if you don’t want to wear anything on your skin, just add this on high points of your face and people would be asking you about your glowing skin. It’s very subtle and melts like butter on the skin.
I like it, it does work. It illuminates, moisturizes, does not feel heavy or oily, and does everything that it claims. The only thing that puts me off is the price. And if you buy it in India, it’s a sky rocketing price for what it is plus I can’t find much distinction between this and the MAC Strobe cream except that this is a bit more moisturizing. Also, this product has more skin care ingredients compared to the strobe cream. This is a skincare and makeup product combined in one, but I would personally keep it as a makeup product only.
Overall, I adore this product, but considering the price, I would always be dilly-dallying about repurchasing it.
