Skin tone: Medium to dusky
Hello, friends!
Today, I am going to review Tarte Tarteist Lip Crayon in the shade “Queen”. So, let’s see how this fared for me.
Price: Rs.1260 for 0.26g
Product Description:
A 2-in-1, vegan lip crayon that helps prime and line a perfectly contoured pout.

(+/-): Titanium Dioxide (CI 77891), iron oxides (CI 77491, CI 77492, CI 77499), yellow 6 lake (CI 15985), red 28 lake (CI 45410), red 7 lake (CI 15850), blue 1 lake (CI 42090), red 6 (CI 15850), yellow 5 lake (CI 19140).
My Experience with Tarte Tarteist Lip Crayon Queen:
Packaging: Tarte Lip Crayons come packaged in a usual retractable color-coded lip pencil format. The brand name and color name are there on the pencil in golden letters. The packaging is very basic, but there is one great problem. When we twist up the pencil, it goes up nicely but the problem occurs when we try to twist the product back inside, it doesn’t go inside, which is pretty annoying. Due to this issue, there is a lot of product wastage.
Shade: The shade “Queen” is a beautiful berry pink color. It is a universally flattering shade and will complement most of the medium to intense pink lipsticks. I really love this shade and it is quite versatile.
Formula: The formula of these lip crayons is not very promising, I would say. Though it is a bit creamy in texture, they are not extremely buttery as ColourPop pencils or NYX lip pencils. It doesn’t glide on the lips, we need to put in some effort to line the lips. It does tug the lips while applying and tends to break easily, which is pretty disappointing. The formula isn’t hydrating or moisturizing and clings to the dry patches when I try to fill in the lips. Sometimes, I just use a lipliner all over my lips, but filling in the lips with this product is quite a task. So, I only use this product to line the lips, and then, I have to use a lipstick. The lip crayon has good pigmentation; one swipe gives the required color, which is quite nice.
Staying Power: The longevity of these lip crayons is pretty decent. They last for more than 5 hours with eating and drinking.
Overall, I hate this product. Tarte has some quality products but these are a big No-No. These are below-average lip pencils, which can be used only for lining the lips and not filling them. Even in the swatch, I have lined my lips with this and used liquid lipstick from Tarte over that.
Pros of Tarte Tarteist Lip Crayon Queen:
• Beautiful berry pink color
• Semi-creamy consistency
• Good pigmentation
• Lasts up to 5 hours
Cons of Tarte Tarteist Lip Crayon Queen:
• Cannot twist the product down
• Breaks easily
• Pressure needs to be applied while lining
• Tugs to the lips
• Clings to the dry patches
• Cannot fill the lips
• Pricey
IMBB Rating: 2/5
