Hello, beauties!
Lakme has recently launched a huge range of lipsticks with 30 shades. This range is an improved version of their previous 9 to 5 Matte Lipstick range. Most of the shades are similar and a few shades are new as well. I’ve already reviewed the shades Maple Map and Rosy Mind. Today, I am going to review the shade Pink Post. Let’s get into the review.

My Experience with Lakme 9 to 5 Primer + Matte Lipstick Pink Post:
Packaging:
Lakme 9 to 5 Primer + Matte Lipstick comes in a gorgeous rose gold metallic finish packaging along with a cardboard box that contains some information. This pretty tube looks so nice and I love its outer look. Now if you hold the tube, it feels that something is loose inside it. It is not so strong.
Initially, I felt that it was broken but no, it always feels like that. Yet, it works smoothly and the cap is tight enough to carry it safely. Also, the lipstick comes with the shade name’s sticker at the bottom of the tube but there is no shade indicator, so they all look similar in my tray and it’s quite difficult to spot a particular shade from my stash.
Shade and Pigmentation:
This new range has 30 shades, which is definitely a huge range. It has a good variety of shades from reds to browns and even some nude shades. But most of the shades are either pink or red. Anyway, this Pink Post is a very beautiful deep fuchsia pink and looks very bright on the lips. This pink is perfect for all skin tones as it is a gorgeous party-perfect pink.
The shade isn’t new or unique. In fact, it’s quite a common pink shade. But since I have not bought a pink lipstick in a long time, I like this one. Also, the shade is quite pigmented and only two swipes are needed for the perfect colour pay off. It doesn’t contain any shimmer, which is a good thing from Lakme.
Texture and Quality:
This lipstick has a nice smooth creamy texture that glides easily on the lips and occupies my lips evenly. It has a soft finish that doesn’t feel patchy on lips and never highlights dry patches. Otherwise, the formula feels very light and comfortable on lips. The texture is quite hydrating as well, which makes lips soft and moisturizes them well.
I have normal to dry lips but it never makes my lips dry. It really hydrates them for a long time. I can easily apply it on lips but due to its round tip, it is quite difficult to draw a perfect cupid bow. But, I can manage it. Once it settles down, it gives a beautiful non-drying matte finish, which I absolutely love. Such soft velvety matte finish looks very gorgeous.
Though, it is a matte lipstick the color does transfer slightly. Still, it never looks faded even after the transfer, as lots of lip color still remains on my lips. It also never smudges or bleeds, which is a good thing. This formula never settles into the fine lines or creases. I must say it is a great lipstick range which has a beautiful formula and they claim that it contains primer in it which, definitely, improves the formula and texture a lot.
Staying Power:
This lipstick also claims that it will last around for 12 hours but it doesn’t last for full 12 hours. It stays for around 5-6 hours on the lips. I think the lasting power is good but not that long like they claim. It decently survives meal but after a heavy lunch, it does fade away from the center of my lips and then it need reapplication. But it never looks messy on the lips and the formula is easy to wipe off without leaving any stain behind it.
Overall:
I personally like this range and especially this shade. Also, it has a nice sweet fragrance to it, which doesn’t bother me. Though it is not very long lasting I am still happy with the staying power. A primer is supposed to make your lips smoother and extend the staying power of your lipstick but I could not notice the benefits of a primer in this lipstick range.
One more thing – if you already have a lot of Lakme lipsticks then you might not find anything new in this range. Since I do not own a lot of Lakme lipsticks I am fine with this range. But, to be honest, even I am quite bored with the same old reds and pinks. I feel they should add more unique shades to their collection now.
