My Experience with Tony Moly Inked Cushion Gel Liner 04 Plum Wine:

Cushion makeup products are trending so much these days. Almost every brand has come up with cushion foundations and blushes. Recently, I came across this very interesting cushion eyeliner from the brand Tony Moly.

What made me fall for this product was the beautiful packaging of this eyeliner. Though, I have not tried many makeup products from this brand, but I am fan of their sheet masks. So, I kept my expectation a little high from this product. Read on further to know whether this liner lived up to my expectations or not.

Beginning with the packaging of the product. The eyeliner comes housed in a normal black-colored cardboard box with some details printed on it. Most of the details about the product are printed in Korean. Tony Moly is famous for its super cute packaging. The packaging of this eyeliner is irresistibly cute. It comes in a black ink jar with a quill along with it.

The base of the jar is color coded to easily spot the shade if you own more than one from this range. The packaging is ergonomically made and it’s pretty easy to store. The packaging is very lightweight. The plastic quill brush attaches nicely to the lid of the jar. The cushion liner lies at the base of the jar. Though, the packaging is beautiful, the product takes up a lot of space in my vanity pouch. The brush has soft fine bristles.

The shape of the brush is sleek and helps to draw perfect wing, but I am unable to get a thin, sleek line. The grip of the quill brush is nice and makes application easy. The hair is soft and gentle on the eyelid. The brush is nice but I need to dip it into the cushion again and again to apply the eyeliner. Overall, I am kind of crazy about this super cute packaging.

This range has many shades, but I opted for the shade “Plum Wine.” It’s a pretty deep violet shade with some bluish sheen to it. The finish is metallic and pearly. It does not signify its name perfectly. It is nowhere similar to wine color. The liner has fine shimmers in it, which add a nice sheen to this eyeliner. The shimmers are non chunky and do not budge at all. The liner is nice in terms of pigmentation, but it needs to be layered on to avoid the patchiness since it gets a little streaky with one to two swipes. Multiple swipes give rich and opaque color. The color is nice and buildable.

Though, the product is tagged as a gel eyeliner, but it has fluidity in its consistency. It is similar to liquid liners. The formula is super lightweight and does not even feel on the eyes. The formula is quick drying. So, I have to be very quick while applying to avoid flaking. Once it sets, it does not take up the next layer and flakes badly. These are definitely not budge-proof and get erased with rubbing. The formula is not perfectly waterproof, so it is pretty easy to wipe off.

The lasting power of this eyeliner is somewhere around 3.5-4 hours with a little flaking from the inner corners. It also breaks easily because of its formula.

• Sets pretty quickly, so quick application is recommended.
• Not exactly a gel liner.
• Not a perfect wine shade.
• Not waterproof or budgeproof.
• Moves when you rub your eyes.
• Not very long lasting.
• Expensive.

Yes, if you need a piece of art in your collection, you may add this one, but considering the price point and cons, this product did not completely fulfill my expectations.
