Marc Jacobs Highliner Matte Gel Eye Crayon Deja Blue, Over(night), Out of the Blue, Mist Me? Review, Swatches, EOTD
Hi everyone,
I hope you have seen the swatches of Marc Jacobs Highliner Matte Gel Eye Crayons. I’m reviewing 4 of the 7 liners that I have in this post.
Price: USD25/INR 1600 (approximately each)
Product Description:
My Experience with Marc Jacobs Highliner Matte Gel Eye Crayon Deja Blue, Over(night), Out of the Blue, Mist Me?:
Deja Blue 57: A pale cloud blue color. I am not the biggest fan of this color. It’s too pale for my skin tone. I could use this in creative makeup looks. If you are a fan of putting a white liner on your waterline/lash line, this could be a cool substitute. This can also be paired well with some of the darker shade liners, especially with the blue eyeliners from the same range.
Over(night) 61: A stunning midnight blue shade. I adore this shade. This shade of blue is a perfect pick when you want to take a break from your regular black and brown eyeliners. You can also use this eyeliner for your smokey eye looks. It looks gorgeous on its own and adds a lovely brightness to the eyes. However, a color such as this can easily be found in other brands too.
Dupes: Sugar Still Got the Blues Twist And Shout Fadeproof Kajal, L’Oreal Paris 36H Super Liner Royal Blue Gel Intenza Eyeliner, Chambor Orosa Blue Defining 10H Eyeliner Pencil, MAC Pearlglide Intense Eyeliner Petrol Blue.
Out of the blue 53: A true royal blue shade. Precisely, a beautiful cobalt blue color. I think everyone can use this lovely shade.
Dupes: L’Oreal Infallible Silkissime Eyeliner in Cobalt Blue, Lotus Royal Blue Kajal, Pixi Royal Blue Eyeliner, Maybelline Lustrous Sapphire.
Mist me? 55: A pale milky lavender color. I would like to mix and match this color with other eyeshadows and eyeliners than wearing it on its own.
Dupe: Maybelline Vivid and Smooth Eyeliner – Lavender Pearl.
Let’s take a quick look at the pros and cons,
1. These are retractable pencils, but they come with a lovely little sharpener at the end that helps you get a sharper tip.
2. Comes in gorgeous fun colors. You can mix and match and have fun. Some of the colors are really unique in the collection.
3. They are smooth and glide on the eyes like a dream but are not so smooth that they tend to break at the teeniest pressure.
4. Super duper pigmented. One swipe and you get a full-on color.
5. Doesn’t smudge or smear. And, if you have hooded eyes like mine, don’t worry, once the liner sets in good 10 seconds, it does not transfer on your brow bone.
6. The staying power is incredible both on the waterline and upper lash line. They stayed on my waterline for good 7 hours, and I wore the liners on my lash line for around 8 hours, and they are just the way they were when I had applied them in the morning. Real champions.
7. Never irritated my eyes.
8. You need a good oil-based makeup remover to remove them.
9. The center of the liners are coloured, so makes it easier to locate. Love the matte silver packaging.
Overall, these matte liners have impressed me as much as the shimmery ones. These are definitely one of the top class liners I have in my collection. Fun colors, right texture, excellent staying power and super pigmented. Highly recommended.
