So, let’s take a look at the recipes you can make to reap its benefits.
Ginger and epsom salt detox bath
The ingredients present in this detox bath will make you sweat and the hot water will aid the process. The more you sweat, the more toxins will get eliminated from your body. It will unclog the pores, making your body clean. This will also relax your muscles.
How to use: Take a quarter cup of grated ginger and baking soda each and mix them with two cups of epsom salt. Now, run a bath of hot water and add the prepared recipe. Soak your body in the bath and enjoy for 30 minutes to an hour.
Ginger with orange body scrub
Ginger helps in improving blood circulation, making your skin softer and radiant. Orange helps in skin brightening and leaves your skin refreshed and radiant. The salt in this scrub aids in body detox while soothing and hydrating the skin. Olive oil provides ample moisturization and improves blood circulation as well. The fragrance of this scrub will awaken your senses.
How to use: Take 4-5 tablespoons of Himalayan or epsom salt, 2 or 3 cm of ginger root, 2-3 tablespoon of olive oil or almond oil and fresh peel of one orange. Mix all the ingredients together, except olive oil. Blend everything in a food processor for a scrub-like consistency. Now, add olive oil to this recipe. Store in an airtight jar. Use just like a normal scrub.
Ginger with pumpkin face mask
Pumpkin is quite rich in vitamins and nutrients that exfoliate and moisturises the skin, treats sun damage and balances the oil of the skin. The enzymes present in pumpkin promote the growth of new and healthy skin cells. Nutmeg in this recipe soothes the inflammation and treats the blemishes while ginger treats scars and blemishes as well. This face pack will leave your skin softer, clearer and radiant with improved health.
How to use: Take a quarter cup pumpkin puree, a quarter teaspoon grounded ginger and a quarter teaspoon grounded nutmeg. Do not worry about the quantity as it can be stored in for a few days. Now, mix all the ingredients together to form a smooth texture. Apply this face mask over cleansed face and let it sit for 15-20 minutes. Then wash it off with lukewarm water and follow up with a moisturiser.
Ginger with green tea ice cube facial
Ginger improves the blood circulation, make skin softer and radiant. It also treats scars and blemishes while nourishing the skin. Green tea, on the other hand, has anti-inflammatory properties that combat redness and irritation and soothes your skin. It is a great source of anti-oxidants which eliminates free radicals and makes your skin healthy. It firms your skin, thus imparts a natural glow.
How to use: Brew a cup of green tea and add few thin slices of ginger in it. Let it sit for 10-15 minutes and then pour the ginger infused tea in an ice tray. If you want, you can strain the slices of the ginger. On plus side, these ice cubes can work as flavoured cubes for your summer drinks.
Ginger infused hair oil
Ginger helps in stimulating the blood circulation of the scalp that in turns promotes the growth of hair. When the blood flow is increased, all the nutrients and oxygen come to the scalp and make the scalp and hair follicles healthy and keeps them nourished. Olive oil provides moisturisation to your scalp and treats dandruff as well.
How to use: Take two tablespoons of olive oil and a quarter teaspoon of grated ginger. Warm the olive oil and low heat and add the grated ginger to it. Remove the olive oil from heat as soon as the ginger turns brown. Let it cool down and then strain the oil to remove the ginger residue. Your ginger infused hair oil is ready. Apply this oil on your hair and leave it for 7-10 minutes and then rinse it off. Follow up with your favourite shampoo and conditioner.
